It is odd President Bush blames Iran for the deaths of U.S. soldiers in Iraq. After all, we know who is truly responsible <"Bush aims tough words at Iran about role in Iraq," News, Feb. 15>.
We know that Bush did not provide enough troops to secure Saddam's ammo dumps and that the unexploded ordnance is now being used in roadside bombs. We also know that the troops were not outfitted with sufficient body armor and that their vehicles did not have adequate armor-plating. And, we also know that our young men and women have been in harm's way every day for nearly four years even though Saddam had no WMD and never posed a credible threat to U.S. national security.
Yes, Mr. Bush, we know exactly who is responsible for the deaths of the 3,122 American servicemen and, regrettably, he doesn't live in Tehran.
