Huckabee has been EXPOSED as pushing a paroled murderer version contradicted by the facts....
Edited on Wed Dec-05-07 09:58 PM by Blackhatjack
Edit to fix typo and make 2nd paragraph agree with 3rd paragraph that makes clear Huckabee recommended his early release, but did not directly release him.

Huckabee 'wiped' the hard drives of hundreds of computers and hid public documents that were politically embarrassing when he left office. Now you should never count on all documents being destroyed and remaining hidden forever.

Huckabee's Campaign put out a version that Huckabee had no way of knowing about the continued dangerousness of this convict, and basically he had no choice but to recommend his early release.

However now the letters of the women raped by this convict sent to Huckabee have become public, as well as Huckabee writing letters in support of this convict being released early.

Really destroys his judgment, his credibility, and cast him in the light of trying to promote a known lie that would provide him political cover.

EXPOSED.

3. Holy Moly! Dan Abrams just covered this...
Including a discussion about the rape victim being a cousin of Bill Clinton's, which is partly the reason so many folks were pushing for the release.

5. Hey. No one could have predicted a serial rapist would rape again.

8. The smart treatment of this by the Huckabee Campaign should have been ...
"Huckabee mistakenly believed the convict was sufficiently rehabilitated that he supported his early release. That was a mistake as proven by his subsequent conduct. None of us are fortune-tellers, we act as best we know how from day to day. I wish I had made a different decision regarding his early release. I didn't. I can't change it. To those he harmed after his release, please know that I am truly sorry."

You take the hit. You move on. You don't lie about it. You don't drag it out. You don't try to lie about the lie. And you sure as heck don't base your lie on incriminating documents remaining secret.

And now the long knives come out for Huckleberry.... a joke won't get him out of this one.

10. Let's be clear
He didn't "release" the killer. Sure, it's pretty evident that he encouraged the release (which he denies...big mistake) but he didn't release him.

11. I fixed the OP since my later paragraph made exactly that point...
Huckabee recommended his early release, he did not release him directly on his order.

Thanks for the catch so I could fix the OP.
