Freeper sitting by my partner on the plane last night loves Oprah.
A buzz-cut middle-aged Bush lover - VietNam vet (and a hero to boot by the way he told it) explained why he loves
Oprah...because she has "split" the Democratic party with her support for Obama thus insuring a Republican win in
08.

I'm not at all sure he is wrong.

1. Most people who brag about being a "hero" in Vietnam weren't there.

7. Exactly. That guy probably was 4-F due to hairy anal cyst.
or maybe he shit his pants for a week like Ted Nugent before his draft physical.

Bushies are liars, quite often. Not just because their Bushie Masters have programmed them to be so gullible and accepting of lies (so long as it's Bushie Comrades who tell them) but because a certain kind of "ten punds of shit in a five pound bag" person is attracted to authoritarian evil like Bushies and Nazis.

He may have been telling the truth, anything is possible, but if I know my Bushie-Nazis, the odds of that are about 10-1 AGAINST.

19. Sadly, that's often true.
It's amazing (and painful) that the impression so many have of Viet Nam veterans is based far too much on the claims of faux "vets." There are actually fewer than 700,000 of us left alive ... but, at the rate many "meet" one of us, you'd think we number around 4,000,000. That SHOULD be a clue.

2. I think he may be right.
The top 2 have been too
busy attacking each other
since her endorsement to
even focus on the issues.
You would think that being
a corporate entity, (Harpo)
that Oprah would be a conservative.
It does make one wonder.

3. Illogical. How does that ensure a Republican win?
We will only have ONE candidate in November. How could it possibly be split? Ridiculous.

12. Exactly
It doesn't matter if the party is split now during primaries. That's what they are for.... to argue out who would be best to lead the party in the election vs. the repubs.

with Dukakis. Er, I mean Kerry. Er, I mean the anti-business John Edwards.

So that's not a valid point.

8. Oprah defends Iraq war:
BILL MOYERS: EVEN OPRAH GOT IN ON THE ACT, FEATURING IN OCTOBER 2002 NEW YORK TIMES REPORTER JUDITH MILLER.

JUDITH MILLER: (OPRAH 10/9/02) The US intelligence community believes that Saddam Hussein has deadly stocks of anthrax, of botulinum toxin, which is one of the most virulent poisons known to man.

BILL MOYERS: LIBERAL HAWK KENNETH POLLAK.

KENNETH POLLAK: And what we know for a fact from a number of defectors who've come out of Iraq over the years is that Saddam Hussein is absolutely determined to acquire nuclear weapons and is building them as fast as he can.

BILL MOYERS: AND THE RIGHT HAND MAN TO AHMED CHALABI.

OPRAH: And so do the Iraqi people want the American people to liberate them?

QUANBAR: Absolutely. In 1991 the Iraqi people were....

WOMAN: I hope it doesn't offend you...

BILL MOYERS: WHEN ONE GUEST DARED TO EXPRESS DOUBT OPRAH WOULD HAVE NONE OF IT

WOMAN: I just don't know what to believe with the media and..

OPRAH: Oh, we're not trying to propaganda-- show you propaganda. ..We're just showing you what is.

9. A simplistic theory by a simplistic Bushie
Illogical on many levels but I guess he is finding solace wherever he can given the disarray of his own party. Can they absorb a non-corporate Huckster? A cross dressing Julie Ghouliani? A Mormon Mitt? at the end of the day and all rally behind THEIR eventual candidate? Doubtful.

"Republicans will win because the Democrats have not yet decided on a candidate!"

Meanwhile, the Republicans still have absolutely no clue who it'll be.

It's not going to happen.

I have not yet talked with a Vietnam veteran who has any respect whatsoever for Bush. I'm sure they're out there, but they are relatively few.

The ones I spoke with were against it from the very beginning. Only chickenhawks supported it.

His argument doesn't even make sense. The party is supposed to be "split" in the primaries. I thought last month
the freeps were bleating that having Hillary get the nomination would "cinch" their win.

21. How stupid is that?
The Democrats are split before the Primaries just as the Republicans are but once a candidate is selected you can bet your bottom dollar Oprah will back the Democrat over the Republican as will every other Democrat and most Independents. This "Hero" clearly has no concept of how politics is decided in America..

25. A "buzz-cut middle-aged Bush lover"
At present, persons who , view Bush favorably, are in a very small percentage of the population. These consist of Bush's immediate family, Condeleeza Rice, and a scattering of village idiots and babbling gesticulating nuts.

I would not put much credence in this buzz-cut individuals political acumen.

29. Oprah split the Democratic Party vs CON's doing the Lockstep(Goose step)
It is amazing that the CON followers never question "Why???," none of their politico reps ever, ever, ever, have a different opinion or script from one another. They seem to have mindless robots who have been fed each days action tapes and move their lips in sync. They never, ever disagree with one another???? Why? They all come from the varied States with various State requirements and from various religious, educational, social backgrounds, yet, they all think and act alike????

I am OLD yet I still remember the open and honest fights and full-Committee hearings in the House, even among st the individual party members. These clowns don't need to have residences or offices in DC, they can just e-mail or even input the original Robot data tape for the official House records.......Now this would really save taxpayer funds!
