Poll question: If it came down to a very close Obama/Hillary primary.....
and your state was set to vote.

If your candidate was unable to win would you switch your vote to one or the other to help them win...?

1. My primary is in May. If it even matters, I'll think about it then.

3. I wouldn't want to abandon Joe, but if it comes down to practicalities, I'd go with Obama.
Let me clarify that: I meant Joe Lieberman.

5. Why would I give up the only chance I have to
cast a ballot for a candidate I actually SUPPORT?

I'm not going to cast a primary vote for a candidate I won't be voting for in the GE anyway.

6. But, my candidate is Edwards, and he is quite able to win. Even Bill Clinton said it
last night on charlie rose.

7. By voting for your candidate it tells the winner that other views must be considered
it tells the winner that the other candidate had ideas that the people liked and that he or she needs to adopt if they wish to satisfy the greatest number of their party.

12. I would hope your right,
Edited on Sat Dec-15-07 02:41 PM by NI4NI
but since 11/06, have they been listening more to us, or more to themselves?
Anyways, we agree, that if the no chance of winning scenario actually happens, I'm still sticking with my candidate.

8. I could live with any nominee...
If Biden really doesn't have a chance by the time Ohio rolls around, I'm pretty sure he'd drop out of the race anyways.

At that point, given your scenario - Obama.

But if Biden's still in, I'm still with him.

9. If losing that primary would knock Hillary out of the race for good, I would be tempted
Given all the bullshit frontloaded primaries this time around, there's a chance it might actually come down to that.

10. The primaries are our one chance to vote for the candidate we want
Edited on Sat Dec-15-07 01:43 PM by Kurt_and_Hunter
I will vote for Biden even if he's out of the race by the time it gets to me. Why not? I dislike all the non-Biden candidates to some degree, and willl probably get a chance to vote for one of them in the general.

But in the primaries? Naw... that's our one chance to be at all pure.

13. My primary is the last primary of the season.
I don't have a candidate now. There's no point in it. Too much will change between now and then.

I'll decide what I'm going to do sometime between June 1rst and when I go to the poll.
