If we hold a man in prison for six years and are torturing him it is not being done to gain useful information, its being done for the pleasure of those who are torturing him.

Its just like what was done at Abu Ghraib--it was only to pleasure the sadistic guards and Blackwater people, not to get anything meaningful in the way of information. And, in both cases, it sets other people and nations against us. You'd think the pragmatists in our government would realize this. b) he's a genius at not giving up information; or

Somebody said....I can't remember, was it Sy Hersh?..that after a very short time post-capture, any info you get from someone is "historical". That is, they're out of the loop. Events have passed them by.

So, what possible reason can there be to be for torturing someone for information when they've been in solitary confinment for six years or so? And why videotape it?

Moreover, why does much of the torture have a sexual component? Hmmm?

all the people involved in any way shape or form that had anything to do with torture should be facing criminal charges, serious charges I might add.

He will have been made into, at least, a sympathizer. If not an active terrorist when/if he gets released.
And you know his family won't like the U.S. any better for what they have done. It's never just done to one man,
the whole family suffers and the U.S. gets the credit.
