So the Shiite radicals are just going to lay low until we leave
According to ABC their plan is for us to fight the Sunni's and weaken them. Then once we leave the Shiite radicals will take over.

So why are we there still? To fight the Shiite's war for them and win this thing for Iran?

1. We're supposed to fight them in spite of their laying low.
Their scurrying away is not part of the plan. They have a moral obligation to line up where the US can blast them, see. Bush announced it and all.

2. That will be a long time since there are some 14 large new bases
and a future slew of oil raiders.

3. That assumes there are two sides.
There are probably 16 sides.

I am tired of posting this kind of thing, so I quit here.

There are MORE than two sides - makes this whole mess very complicated. Watch out for the side that has more of an interest in doing us than doing anything in Iraq -

I personally do not care about the other factions.

5. Our troops are still there because
they're protecting the contractors who are plundering our national treasure for years to come.

6. The Surge will be proclaimed as a Grand Success.
Most of the fighters against the US Occupation will get out of town and lay low for a few months. After the Surge is over they will come back and start again.
