Over at Jim Robinson's FreeRepublic...(last one for the day)
...they are "debating" the merits of a female President. Again, their insane ramblings are humorous and a hoot, but, seriously, they really need to be marginalized like the crazy aunt or uncle in the attic. One comment by a member known as "bygolly" states that the very thought of having a woman as CIC is an anethma to him/her and him/her soon to be commissioned son. Unfortunately, for "bygolly" her son is a disciplined member of the officer corps who understands civilian control of the military regardless of gender. Guess, he wasn't raised right, SERIES!!!!11111 and screwn.

Enjoy the frivolity here: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1787580/posts

Poll: Most Say U.S. Ready For Female President
Associated Press via WCVB-TV ^ | 02-19-2007 | Associated Press

ALBANY, N.Y. -- Is America ready for a female president?

A new poll seems to say the answer is yes -- although Hillary Clinton may not be that woman.

The Siena Research Institute poll finds two-thirds of Americans think the country is ready for a female in the Oval Office.

Many of those surveyed believe a woman would do a better job than a man in handling domestic issues such as education and health.

The average person can see that America is ready for a female news anchor on one of the big three networks, i.e. Katie Couric, but the average person isn't watching her.
So the average person may think America is ready for a female president, but is the average person going to vote for a woman as president?

Those are two different questions.

Didn't read the article - it sounds like more disingenuous MSM caterwauling and trying to pave the way for a hillary win.

I don't have any issues with a female president, but I have huge issues if that female is Hillary!!

Yes but...

That means one third won't vote for a woman. If half of those are Dems and Hillary also has 47% negatives I simply don't see how she can win the general.

The more revealing question would be, "Do you think the country is ready for a Marxist in the Oval Office?"

I know this might be a bit odd; but, if she ran, I'd take a hard look at Judge Judy:

"During my years in family court, I have seen a dramatic deterioration in the lives of adults and children. At the same time, there has been a dramatic increase in expensive public programs. We are spending a fortune and the result is failure. The recipients of these monies are in the same or worse shape than before, and the consequences are all around us:

More and meaner delinquents
More unwanted children
More abused children
More dysfunctional adults
More teenage pregnancies

By shifting the emphasis from individual responsibility to government responsibility, we have infantilized an entire population."
- Judy Sheindlin -

Would love to see her call Putin a Nudnik.

Many Countries in the world think of Women as weak.

What would THAT do to the war on terror ?

what would happen if said woman proved them right in her response to a terrorist act ?

I can't, either. I think sometimes Condi Rice could do it, and then she says something that makes me think, "nevermind."
I don't think as many people will vote for a woman, ANY woman, as the media thinks. The CIC thing assigns a civilian "generalship" role to the president, and most Americans just can't make that leap yet. That's the simple truth.

My son will be commissioned on Friday as a Navy Ensign. The thought of Hillary as his CIC is nothing short of a nightmare.

The pubbies wouldn't stay home on election day and let that happen would they? Talk about the democrats stabbing the military in the back...as far as I'm concerned, if the pubbies stayed home and she was elected, that would be just as bad!

"Is the US ready for a female president?" Of course. If an American-style Margaret Thatcher ran for the job, I would crawl through broken glass to help her. But the idea that Hillary Clinton is fit to wipe the boots of Dame Thatcher, or Secretary Rice, or Prime Minister Gandhi, is absurd.
Would this PBS station dare run a program raising the question, "Is the US ready for a male president?" without also asking, what KIND of male president?

Many of those surveyed believe a woman would do a better job than a man in handling domestic issues such as redistributing your income into other peoples education and health care.

Nothing wrong with a good, stront, intelligent woman to lead our country. However that person is NOT hillerree.. She has to run on Bill's name and popularity to get anywhere. She is not the woman who could lead this country. She is a screamer, yeller and obnoxious personality.
Simply put...she is NOT qualified.

I had no idea Judge Judy was so ignorant.

I saw the extensive positive effect of many programs when I was a social worker. The problem is too few dollars directed towards helping the disadvantaged, not too many.

She had little credibility with me before; now, she has NONE.

I knew that the people that posted there were ignorant and simplistic; this is just more proof.
