Rupert Murdoch is the virus devouring the soul of western democracy
Edited on Tue Feb-20-07 12:37 AM by notmyprez
Historically speaking the United States, United Kingdom, and Australia have a lot in common. Yet, their shared history pales in comparison with their contemporary commonalities. And none of their more recent shared characteristics are more revealing than these:

1. Their leadership is the most committed to the continued war and occupation in Iraq.

2. All three country's leaders are highly unpopular with their respective electorate.

3. Despite the devastating political consequences, all three leaders in all three nations continue to ignore the will of the people they supposedly represent and fiercely defend and, at least in one instance, insist upon escalating the war in Iraq.

Still, perhaps, there is one thing the three nations have in common that is the single most important and defining contemporary characteristic: In each country the Australian-born mega-media mogul, Rupert Murdoch (FOX and FOX News), controls a large portion of the so-called mainstream press. But it is more than that, the Australian Murdoch CONTROLS a great deal of the information being disseminated to the electorate of each country.

I found this article pretty interesting. I'd never thought of it that way before.

propaganda press except he figured out something the Nazis didn't, sensationalism. While the Nazis lost readership because the homogenous pap endlessly praising the reich was boring to read, Murdoch has figured out how to throw in sleaze as news, missing murdered white girls, murdered pregnant wives, a dead starlet who may have four men claiming fatherhood to her unborn child.

While these stories are played 24/7 appealing to the lowest denominator, the real news goes unreported except in obscure journals, media and pages in mainstream newspapers far removed from the first page and finally internet blogs and websites. Yet no one stops watching FOX News or stops reading the myriad of Murdoch tabloid journals as news because Murdoch makes sure they aren't bored like the Germans were.

4. Well, if they ever get a chance to dissect people like Murdoch

they'll only slice into people-shaped skin-bags of festering pus.

All the money and influence in the world can't make the guy human.

You think that's what motivates this guy? He knows he's pure evil and he wants the rest of us to suffer with him?

5. Amazing. Another piece on Murdoch without mentioning that the
only reason he remains head of News Corpse is the large block of stock owned by Saudi Prince Al-Waleed Bin Tahal.

7. I wanted the MSM to change the headline to something like Cheney, "A Beer or Two," and A Gun
and it was scrubbed by the MSM. Why does the MSM media listen to the Saudis, and not a a ulta liberal?

Come on Limbaugh answer that one, or are your prescription drugs fogging your mind?

'Beer quote' pulled from MSNBC Cheney hunting party article

http://rawstory.com/news/2005/Beer_quote_pulled_from_MSNBC_Cheney_0215.html

An article at MSNBC's Website was edited to remove references to alcohol, that may have been available at a picnic, which preceded the accidental shooting of a 78-year-old lawyer by Vice President Cheney last Saturday, RAW STORY has learned.

9. IMO that's a big clue
as to this whole war on terror hoax.

The Murdoch press hypes all the islamophobia so that the freepers foam at the mouth about how savage the muslims are...but this hatred is only ever channelled to gain political capital to attack shi'ite countries (Iran, Iraq). The sunni countries which are our allies and (some of which are) just as repressive and fundamentalist as Iran (or more so) are called "moderate" and our "allies".

It's a shame that the freepers will never realise they are being led by the nose by the very same wahabbis that they detest.

6. I've been saying for years that he is a
communications terrorist. Without a doubt, this man has done more damage to the media and free speech than any single human being on the planet and all in the name of "freedum and demockracy." Break out the flags and tune the band. And he's done this in more than one nation.
