Imus is ALL OVER the WaPo/Dana Priest/Bldg. 18 story.
And I'll just bet he'll call some of his guests on it, what they've done, and why haven't they done more. For once, I'm loving the old curmudgeon!

I don't agree with a lot of what the guy says and does but on this he's dead right on.

When you think every thing should be run by private business, for profit, it pays not to run govt. well. We can be sure this man running it was going to the right Church, born again into the how to make a profit for my self Church, that Bush loves so.:banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

23. Go to the Washington Post website.
You can easily obtain all 3 stories on their front page.

The series started Sunday. On each day, the Post has devoted the top half of its front page to this series. It's a bombshell.

Edited on Tue Feb-20-07 08:03 AM by NNN0LHI
You know, that guy he helped beat an anti-war Dem last election in Connecticut? Did Imus ever call his pick for the Senate, Joe Lieberman a war criminal? All I remember Imus saying was that the anti-war Dem running against Lieberman reminded him of admitted child molester John Mark Karr?

These feckers like Imus and his minions who do their best to get people blown to smithereens and then act like they are concerned after the fact make me sick.

38. He doesn't "act like they are concerned after the fact "
He has helped raise millions for the Intrepid Foundation, ( and he and his wife champion Autistic children and kids with cancer)

He puts his money where his mouth is

If that makes you sick...seek help

14. Good. The story needs to be propagated as far and wide as possible.
Edited on Tue Feb-20-07 07:36 AM by mloutre
I'm not the only one who's referenced it at DU, obviously, but in addition to writing about it at the other blogs I create top-page content for, I did post two parallel threads about it here as well (in different categories, to catch different thread surfers):

In GD-P, titled "This story SHOULD transcend politics -- please make it so"
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=3119683&mesg_id=3119683

and in GD, titled "Yes it's redundant, but this travesty needs to be blogswarmed as far and wide as possible."
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=389&topic_id=240203&mesg_id=240203

I wouldn't normally push a single story so hard across the various venues that I write for, but this one really needs to be spread as far and wide as possible.

Whenever I hear the wingnut bloviators claiming that progressives don't "support the troops", I want this horrorshow to be thrown right back in their faces until they step up and do the right thing.

The troops sure as hell deserve a whole lot better than the lip service they're getting on the back end from all the self-righteous neokonzertruppen, White House parasites, and shameless war profiteers responsible for such egregious abuses of the national interest.

28. If you need 'em, here are some TOLL FREE Capitol Hill switchboard numbers:
Check my sig line down at the bottom. If they're listed here, they're still good. I try to keep the list updated.

Yes. EVERYBODY. DO IT.

And if I could, might I suggest leaning hard on republi-CONS about this. Put it to them squarely - YOU accuse people like US of NOT SUPPORTING THE TROOPS???????? And yet you'd sit back and let Halliburton steal billions upon billions of our tax dollars with NO accountability (remember, this happened mostly while THEY controlled BOTH HOUSES OF CONGRESS and chose repeatedly to do NOTHING about it, ask NO questions about it, hold NO hearings about it, and hold NO ONE accountable for it), and then you impugn OUR patriotism because we want to get them OUT of Iraq so they DON'T WIND UP IN VERMIN-INFESTED ROACH-MOTELS LIKE THIS ONE??????? You'd like us to believe that WE'RE the ones who aren't supporting our troops?????????????

That's what I intend to do later this morning. Targetting mainly republi-CONS who did nothing but blindly and stupidly rubber-stamping every misdeed and act of negligence this administration perpetrated - ABSOLUTELY WITHOUT QUESTION. And I'm gonna throw in one more question of my own:

JUST WHAT IS IT ABOUT THE MESSAGE OF NOVEMBER 7th, 2006, THAT YOU DON'T GET????

JUST WHAT IS IT ABOUT "SUPPORTING OUR TROOPS" THAT YOU DON'T GET????

35. Will do. I put 'em in my sig line because I figure I post so much around
here that people are bound to see 'em here and there. But I will post a thread on this, too.

And, frankly, I think we need to put the heat SQUARELY on the republi-CONS, who sat on this the ENTIRE TIME THEY CONTROLLED BOTH HOUSES OF CONGRESS. There will be scores of attempts made to spread the blame. Well, I got news for our "news" media (or is that NOISE media?): The Democrats have been in power on Capitol Hill for roughly a big, fat MONTH AND A HALF. THIS DISGRACE DIDN'T JUST SUDDENLY HAPPEN OVER THAT SMALL WINDOW OF TIME, YANNO??? The republi-CONS let this go on, unquestioned, uninvestigated, un-everything'ed, ever since our wounded started returning from the war. Our wounded. The "lucky" ones.

32. The Rethug support our troops slogan
has just been shattered to oblivion. As KOs Vets for Peace guy said last night, a 'made in China yellow ribbon bumper sticker' does not mean support for the troops.

The hypocrisy chickens are coming home to roost and this will backfire big time on the Rethugs.

"How do you look for uranium in Niger?" He completely misses the point - Wilson was not looking for the yellowcake itself, he was using his myriad contacts with the former government to find out if an attmempt to buy uranium. Fool and a tool.
