Dana Priest, RE: the soldiers involved in the Walter Reed story-
they are apparently scared to death that their contributions to her story will result in disciplinary action or medical services being taken away.
Do you think they'd go that low?
Priest did say she'd be monitoring what ramifications there might be, but that's really worrisome. I put nothing past some of the people who just want this story swept under the rug. :(

1. This is why we need to hit the Congress hard and push for
immediate oversight. Which committee gets this one? Hearing should happen this week, even if they have to return to DC from holiday to do this.

2. If Dana Priest says she's monitoring them
she'll track them like a hound dog. I can't think of a more conscientious and driven reporter. She's the Patrick Fitzgerald of journalism. Won a Pulitzer last year, should win one this year.

9. I hope that she is staying on top of this and any ramifications...

This story is absolutely outrageous and the idea that any retaliation against these soldiers for speaking the truth would happen makes me sick...

3. They may not publicly go that low, but there will be repercussions for them saying anything publicly
I just couldn't believe what I saw last night on Jim Lehrer and then on KO last night. Absolutely despicable.

7. read this old truthout article-yes they will retaliate
http://www.truthout.org/cgi-bin/artman/exec/view.cgi/7/3786

Congress, veterans groups, and the press should immediately launch a full investigation into this Operation Iraqi Freedom veteran's allegation he suffered retaliation from the military for speaking with reporters about substandard military healthcare. A series of three UPI articles about this major scandal are posted here. They describe the "squalor" more than 1,000 wounded, ill, or injured service members were forced to endure while on "medical hold." -- Veterans for Common Sense

8. That could use its own thread, too, 'lady. Even though it's old, it does
or could pertain to what these soldiers could face.
