A question about the Shia and Sunnis?
When we took the Sunnis out of power and the Shia got control. Why do so many Shia target the US?

1. Well, we are occupying their country and have you forgotten our little
'mini-war' on Sadr City in 2004?

2. Most of the attacks (we are told) are by the Sunnis
the Shia attacks are mostly on other Shia (power struggle) and Sunnis (long simmering hatred).

3. could be because we are occupying their country
maybe because:
we bombed their country,
destroyed their infrastructure- roads, hospitals, water and electric
killed their family members
stole their oil
ruined their economy
took their jobs
destroyed their heritage
polluted with DU and other junk
starve their children
disbanded their police
turned their lives into hell
need more?

Shia attacks on US troops. Some Shiites want the US to stay in Iraq; these are those that are supported by Iran. The Shiites who want the US out of Iraq are mainly those who follow al Sadr, who is both anti-Iran and anti-US. This is a struggle that is being "managed" by the WH for purely political/corporate reasons. We are not being told the real story and probably never will be. We hate al Sadr who is an enemy of Iran; we support al Hakim (sp) who is an ally of Iran; we are preparing to attack Iran because they are "meddling" in Iraq. None of this makes any sense, at all, so we must assume that the real agenda is not being shown to us, but we are too stupid to ask the very simple question: "If Iran supports al Hakim (sp) and we support al Hakim, and if al Sadr is opposed to Iran and we oppose al Sadr, what the hell is going on here?!"

5. I think you summed it up very nicely.
But if you change the perspective, and consider that Iran was the real target all along, it starts making a little more sense.

But not much.
