Oldest wingnut makes case for GORE: If not actually RUNNING, sure is WALKING FAST
From the oldest person named "Cindy", who swims in the cocktail circuit:

GORE EYES LAND OF OPPORTUNITY

February 20, 2007 -- THE Gore factor. He's in. Not officially. But look what's happening. Deliberately or accidentally, the man's built a core following. Environmentalists. Global warmers. Green people. And sole owner of this hot-button issue, he now sponsors star-studded concerts in strategic states. All serendipitous? Believe that, and I've got 120 miles of swampland in New Jersey I'd like to unload on you.

Al Gore's overcome that loser perception by mobilizing something wonderful. And if . . . if . . . he doesn't go himself, his support - his leadership of this massive passive army - makes him a major player.

It's all about opportunity. McCain with his legendary Vietnam heroism, and whom everyone accepted as the GOP front-runner, is foundering. Hillary with her historic microscopic organization, and whom everyone accepted as the Dem front-runner, now has Obama out there. And Gore. The space heretofore reserved for presumptive winners is being sucked up by opportunists. We're a nation of instant gratification.

Gore's film is up for an Oscar. Gore is without baggage. Not saddled with a war voting record pro or con. An unencumbered free spirit. And with making a bundle off Google and the Apple board, he ain't got what to worry about making a living. He can afford to devote himself to the enterprise.

Did he initially Machiavellianly start this as a ploy? Naaah. He'd never have gained all that weight if he thought he'd be going for president. What happened was: opportunity. Seeing such unfoldment, bright bulbs around him suddenly lit up.

OK, he isn't actually running for president. But he's sure walking fast.

3. Just a question
what was heroic about McCain's 6 years in prison??? He survived, but so did many others. I don't get the way the press has beatified him.

5. To be fair...
...if you can spend six years at the Hanoi Hilton, interrogated, tortured with stress positions, and occasionally beaten, and come out the other end, you'll probably be greeted as a hero, too.

6. Simple, in his place I like many others would've just dodged the draft...
For fear of the possibility that I might have encountered such a fate. Anyone who puts themselves at risk for that to happen has indeed committed heroic actions. That doesn't mean that he's qualified to be President by any means.
