Is Al Sharpton black enough?
After all, he only got 10% of the vote in SC.

Or perhaps, contrary to what MSM would lead us to believe, Democratic voters choose candidates based issues, not the color of their skin.

South Carolina primary Feb 2004
Edwards 45%
Kerry 30%
Sharpton 10%
Clark 7%
Dean 5%
Lieberman 2%
Kucinich 1%

1. Or perhaps...
it's a regional thing, and voters in the Carolinas support candidates from the Carolinas.

4. I do think you could make the argument for regional biases.
Richardson, Obama, HRC and Edwards all lead the polls in their homestates. Pres candidates usually get a 10% boost from their homestate, VPs usually a 5% boost. It wouldn't be surprising to see that spill over into neighboring states.

There seems to be some regionalism going on here, for the most part...

2004 best primary showing
John Kerry - New Jersey (92%)
Howard Dean - Vermont (54%)
John Edwards - South Carolina (45%)
Al Sharpton - Dist. of Columbia (34%)
Wesley Clark - Oklahoma (30%)
Dennis Kucinich - Oregon (16%)
Joe Lieberman - Delaware (11%)

8. That's just another reason for me to like Oregon ....
... despite the eastern side of the state. I'll take Portland or Eugene, I guess.

3. Apparently being "articulate" makes one less black?
:sarcasm:

I find the whole discussion in the MSM highly offensive.
