Scoff if you will, but the papers in my town (NYC) are taking this VERY seriously...

...would he draw more disullisioned GOP or moderate Democratic votes?

1. He'd draw the Reps
We have a nice field to choose from, they've got nothing.

13. No matter who takes the primary, we have a nice solid field
We'll have a viable, sensible candidate, even if it's the dreaded Hillary, and they'll have a fruitcake. Bloomberg still takes Rep votes.

4. He told Seacrest he wasn't running.
Last night in Times Square, Ryan Seacrest asked him and I was shocked to hear him give a straight answer: "I'm not running for president."

I'm not a Bloomberg fan, but it was nice to hear a unambiguous answer from a politician. :-)

9. Excuse me for sounding glib...
...but Ryan Seacrest isn't exactly Charlie Rose.

I'm looking for your source, and while I don't doubt your word, remember--Al Gore said roughly the same things dozens of times, and while he never did run, many DU'ers were finding loopholes in phrases like "I'm not PLANNING to run for President," and "I am not CURRENTLY running for president," etc.

But if he was running his own stealth campaign, the last place Bloomberg would announce it would be on Ryan Seacrest's New Years show.

12. I understand what you're saying ...

but he said straight out: "No, I will not run for president."

It shocked me that he gave the "scoop" to Seacrest ... it was the last thing I expected to see on New Year's Rockin' Eve, LOL!

Maybe it was the champagne talking. ;-)

6. A lot of DLC, Blue Dogs, and Reagan Democrats would finally find a home.
And then, they could shout "Too Liberal" and "Too Conservative" at the same time.

"A thing moderately good is not so good as it ought to be. Moderation in temper is always a virtue; but moderation in principle is always a vice." - Thomas Paine

14. Today he said with a firm no. He is not running.
I wish the Media would be grownups and stop trying to divide
the country and constantly creating dissension.
