3. Its possible...wasn't the strike set off by outrageous demands on the part of rich producers?

If they KNEW that their writers were organized, and that certain demands would set off a strike creating a media blackout of certain voices...Its one a way a very small group of rich people could have a big effect without looking like they were practicing censorship.
