Breaking: December Manufacturing Index LOWEST SINCE APRIL 03 (Edwards Boost?)
Edited on Wed Jan-02-08 10:26 AM by CorpGovActivist
http://news.google.com/news?hl=en&tab=wn&scoring=d&q=manufacturing+index+%22institute+for+supply+management%22">News round-up, breaking.

Update: Falls from 50.8 to 47.7 (estimate was 50.5). LOWEST READING SINCE APRIL 2003.

Given his http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=john+edwards+textile+mill">family's textile mill experience, this latest data may give Edwards new ammunition for his "closing arguments" in Iowa (where many of tomorrow's local papers will doubtlessly feature this news). He certainly speaks from a certain "roll up your sleeves" position of authority on manufacturing jobs and organized labor issues.

1. "A great economic SURGE is coming." - Commander AWOL
Edited on Wed Jan-02-08 10:09 AM by SpiralHawk
"Yesirree, just watch the profit margin for my republicon homelander oil & munitions cronies, and you are going to see that a Major Freakin SURGE has happened. Smirk.

"Oh yeah, almost forgot my republicon propaganda talking point of the day: 'Too bad about you proles out there in American-land, and your sky-high oil bills, and your stomach-turning food bills, and your lousy minimum-wages jobs, and non-esistant health care or safety net, and our crumbling infrastructure, and the foreclosures, and the vast numbers of homeless and hungry, and shit like that. Smirk.

"I am all, like, totally conservatively compassionate - smirk - about your, um, plight. Smirk."

3. I have been a devotee of Commander AWOL
ever since it was first reported that he skipped out on his National Guard responsibilities.

The rank hypocrisy of a man who is an AWOL dilettante having occultly wrested the role of Commander in Chief of the world's finest armed services -- made up of our very own sons and daughters in uniform -- has always troubled me greatly.

America deserves so much better than an AWOL president, and a Vice President (Cheney) with five military deferments.

The blatant hypocrisy of it all keeps me perpetually wary of so-called republicon morality.

4. Charlie Rangel Drives Them Nuts...
... as you http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=charles+rangel+draft">probably know.

I love watching him skewer them on this issue.

7. Wow! Yet another Great Depressiongasm.
Edwards is not FDR, and it's sick to even slightly indicate a cheering on of a recession. I've never seen people so giddy over bad news. Just because FDR was elected in poor economic times, it doesn't mean we should cheer on bad news in the economy. Real people are being hurt out there when bad news comes. It's absolutely sickening to see this happen.

8. I'm Not *Cheering* Bad Economic News...
... nor do I foresee an imminent Great Depression II. But I do think that the content and timing of this news may help Edwards' message resonate a little more strongly.
