Oh My : How sad is this re Rep. Lantos
He's retiring at the end of his term because he has cancer of the esophagus. Damn this is really sad news.

I know a lot of DUers can't stand him, but I've always found him a mixed bag with more good than bad.

5. I question some of his politics, but I would never wish anything like this
to happen to anybody, even a republican. My friend's dad had esophagal cancer, he had some pretty radical surgery and survived for about 10 years, but most people don't survive it. A very sad day.
