1. I had half of mine removed 2 years ago.
My thyroid function was fine but I had a tumor the size of a tennis ball on it. The odd thing is that it was not readily visible from appearances.

7. yep them caucus goers sure do throw a monkey wrench in things don't they
when it comes to health one must be ever diligent because three years ago this month I had a cramp in my lower leg that came on all of a sudden as I was getting ready for work and it was so bad that I had to go to the emergency room and I was diagnosed with pad. The interesting part is my cholesterol numbers are right where all the literature says it should be to prevent this from happening, so I say to everyone to pay attention to the little signs, cause if I would have I could have been diagnosed much sooner where a stint or a bypass would have been possible because I had been noticing my legs were not like they used to be and I blew it off that I was just getting old.

5. Yes, check the neck.
I'm a thyroid cancer survivor. Get it checked and not just for cancer but for functioning as well. The thyroid regulates so much in the body, including metabolism and temperature. Get it checked. Can't be said enough.

8. Check Your Neck!!!!
(not just for vampire victims) ;)

A family member has had to have their
para-thyroid (sp?) operated on. Good
advice for all to keep a check on it.

9. I have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis and it sucks.
I am on Levoxyl every day.

I often have times that I feel terrible.

My thyroid is very large. And I have nodules that get biopsied, thankfully no CA.

I may have to get it removed.

So YES, get your thyroid checked.

11. Hair loss is a symptom of low thyroid.
That alone should make some people get the simple blood test.

BTW, I take my Synthroid daily.

Thanks for the reminder!
