Women and Lawyers and Blacks, Oh My! These things have Republicans lost in the woods this year.
Apologies to Wizard of Oz fans.

Color me naive, but I am so proud of Democrats this election year. Not the DLC or the DNC. Democrats like you and me.

We have a woman, a person of color and a lawyer who wants to pull corporate teeth out of the Government comprising the top three runners. All three have a very real possibility of winning the Democratic nomination and I believe whichever one is nominated will handily defeat any Republican in the running today. While two of the three aren't exactly my cup of tea, I am proud of the people who have made this potentially one of the most historical elections in the last 100 years when looking at the capacity for change (rather than the recent scandals concerning tallying the elections themselves).

Take a breath, friends. Smile and support the candidate of your choice. If your candidate wins or loses be proud. Obama has brought the youth back in a fashion we haven't seen since McGovern. Edwards is bringing light to corporate greed and scandal in a way that we haven't seen since Bryant gave his Cross of Gold speech. Hillary was the first some fifteen years ago to bring the intolerable health care system in America to the front page.

If you're a lefty like me, you can find fault with any of the three. You can also smile at the fact that we even have a group like this as serious contenders for the Democratic nomination for the President of the United States. I've a feeling that the rest of the world is relieved to see that America just might slip back into sanity in 2009.

Good thoughts and wishes to you all, no matter who you support this year.

Dawggie

8. My feelings, as well...
I try to avoid reading most of the back and forth snipes, half-truths, and partisan arrogance that has been been dominating this board for months. I found that my distaste for the tactics, of certain prolific posters, was beginning to color my view of certain candidates. I like different things about ALL of our candidates and, there are things that bother me about ALL of our candidates.

Al Gore could have made it sooooooooooo much easier for me. :P Anyway, I was sorry to see Biden and Dodd go ... I believe they both would have been good Presidents. Soon, I will have to decide ... till then, my mind is open.

to stop being hypocritical NOW?

16. Indeed. My guy dropped out last night and it was a crusher, but I see nothing but hope
regardless.

Even my least favorite candidate will shake up the foundation enough to completely rebuild it after eight years of neglect and outright damage.

Disappointed I am--but I'm still exceedingly proud that I am a Democrat!
