The internet is bringing out the "best" in our society
Edited on Sat Jan-05-08 10:39 AM by proud2Blib
I have come to the point where I am more intrigued by the comments people post after stories on media websites than the stories themselves. And if people who believe some of this shit really exist, we are in trouble. Here's a great example. A story about a police chase where the car thief overturned the car he had stolen and was injured. Here are some of the comments:

Cool ...I want video!

That is NOT safe. How dare the Police chase people and use things that flatten tires! He should sue them. He never would have wrecked his new car if the police had not made him do it. I hope he gets a million dollars and the police get fired!

What is it with PIGS and guns?If a person is dead or is in bad shape they still draw their guns.If you want to see aperson go bad let them put on a badge and a gun. They go ape #### soon after.

hopefully he will die from the injuries

Who cares what you think. When Hillary or Obama become President we are going to be running the show and you will just have to shut up and deal with it.

1. It's bizarre. The first time I read the comments after a Chronicle
story, I couldn't believe what I was reading. It was ten times worse than Freakerville.

7. I now always post under some version of my name.
It keeps me honest. At one point, I wanted to kill this username and use my own name but I couldn't figure out how to save my bookmarks. I wasn't smart enough to be the real me. lol

4. Anonymity is a power that can be abused like any other power.
It gives one the ability to attack with impunity with little fear of retaliation in a real sense.
