...Chet Huntley and Christie Brinkley.

No, wait. Tweety isn't that good-looking.

Oh well.

1. I think you owe an apology
to Christie Brinkley.

2. If only Olbermann would stop doing tabloid crap on the last half of his show..
He comes off as a serious, thought provoking journalist.

Then he brings on some idiot and they have a laugh about how bad Brittney Spears is fucking up.

Anyone else see a disconnect there?

I wish he'd just go for substance, and leave behind that tabloid garbage.

5. His show airs at 8:00 in the evening.
It is prime time. Give them a break about the format, for crying out loud.

Besides, you get more insightful, pertinent and legitimate substance and commentary out of KO's 1st half hour than you get out of an entire day on Faux.

I have no problem at all with their take on the lighter side of the days events. A little "tabloid garbage" never hurt anyone.

6. I love his whole show -- he's a deeply funny man, I consider the tab stuff perspective
Nobody goes after BS stories like K.O.

7. Actually, last night he had a serious discussion with someone about Britney
because he said that things have come to the point where it really is no longer funny.

I said to my TV "THANK YOU!"

12. No discussion about Britney's personal life is serious.
I don't expect everyone to agree with me, but please...

I would just like to see him elevate himself above the rest of the ghouls.

15. He's already done that in my book.
He devotes the minimal amount of time to covering that garbage. He's not a ghoul just because there's any of it on his show at all.

9. Keith O doesn't do well as a Corporate MSM shill
He looked pretty stiff and wooden when he tried to goad John Edwards last night.

It was almost as if he was *ordered* to ask those questions...

16. "Tried to goad John Edwards"?
Ever heard of "playing devil's advocate"? Journalists often do it. It makes for more interesting replies.

Not everything an interviewer says directly reflects either his opinion or those of his supposed corporate masters. Believe it or not.

11. Keith
Keith is quick, damn quick. He has a fantastic sense of humor and that allows him to engage in spontaneous riffs with the guests he really seems to enjoy.

When he was on Bill Moyer's he emphasized how important it was in sportscasting to get your facts and history right, or you're dropped by the sports fan 'base' pretty quick. I amazed at his quick use of arcane historical parallels to the present and his obvious love of history.

However, some of his questions are too dense for me to understand, and I'm surprised more guests don't trip over themselves in attempting to speak cogently to the question.

Keith is speed of light quick in issuing corrections when he's proven wrong. Is there anybody else in any medium that even bothers with corrections anymore? The quaint outdated concept of journalistic integrity actually being practiced in the modern time is almost revolutionary. Love you, Keith. Please keep it up.

PS - Apparently MSNBC kind ignored Edwards on their Thursday night coverage. It's to Keith's credit he had John on live pretty early in the Friday show.
