First of all I want to thank all the caring good people here for their kind words and support the other day. I was in a bad way and you were there for Rob and I. Well we met our Neurologist and had what I call a very encouraging meeting. The good news is that Robs tumor is near the surface and in an area of his brain that is the least dangerous to operate on. The next bit of good news is the surgeon that will be doing the operation is according to our Doc..." The Best in the world". He is the head of Yale Hospitals Neurology Dept and a world renound expert in his field. Rob will be at Yale for his operation too. The other positive idea our Doc mentioned is that this may be a blessing in disguise if they can successfully remove the tumor , Rob may never have to worry about seizures aging and could actually live a normal life off his meds. We are scared but at least hopeful. Thanks again for being DU. There isn't a better group of people online anywheres.

Still there is surgery but hey, it is not an unusual one and with the best Doc you have every reason to feel comfortable. Wow this is great news. You all have not left my mind since your first post about this. It would be wonderful if he could get off the meds and never have to worry about seizures again. :hug: to your family, I will keep thinking about you and Rob and sending peaceful, healing thoughts.

I to have been thinking about you and your family. This is truly good news - and I won't go into any details but have had personal and family situations and the key to them ALWAYS is the skill of the doctors and it sounds like you're in VERY GOOD HANDS - so I'll keep you in my thoughts and wait for an update that I am sure will be fabulous

14. My aunt had a brain tumor...

it sounds very similar to what she had. I'd have to ask her. This was several years ago and her surgery went very well. It was malignant and with great care she got, she is now cured and living a normal life. Her spirit remained strong and she kept a great sense of humor that we think really helped with her recovery.
