Are we seriously so intent on crushing our own candidates?

3. No matter who the front-runner is, they are going to get the most sh*t.

It's not just because it's Obama, mmmkay?

4. Sure. It's Whack-A-Mole time, and...
the game is to go after whever pops up as the leader.

Why should this election be any different?

7. We are not bashing the hell out of him. We are bashing the hell out of
the process.

The right process would have given all of our excellent candidates more of an equal chance. The Machine takes on a life of its own and the end result is the oppression of things like the development of alternative energy by the nuclear power lobbying money behind Obama.

The right process:
Public campaign finance;
Fair political use of public broadcast mediums and the internet;
Paper ballots, marked by hand and counted in public on a national voting holiday (or holidays if you include a weekend).

10. Or . . . the front-runner always get the most criticism.
This has long been the case, regardless of color.

16. If you count the color of a pResidential candidate as a Change . . .
Edited on Sat Jan-05-08 04:13 PM by patrice
But you'll have to excuse me I'm still, and have been for a very long time, very confused about whether I'm SUPPOSED to see color or not.

Public campaign finance IS Change. When Obama starts talking about that, I'll start having some of the Hope that he's talking about.

15. I misspoke....
The though of a black guy a guy without experience running the country is frightening to racists/stormfronters people genuinely concerned about keeping the white house, white gay rights and white superiority experience! ;)

17. Playing the race card does not in any way help Obama
Barak has the same problem Edwards does and I am an Edwards supporter.

Neither of them look their age. If I had not been told , I would
think Obama is 30ish. John Edwards does not look 50.

It has nothing to do with race. Image.

Someone asked and this describes it.

In a general election.

Who are you going to vote for The Kool Kid or the Commander In Chief????

I do not intend to be hurtful --=my own candidate has the same problem

18. I'm a little confused about this too: Is it only "the race card" if your a different
color than the subject of the statement. Ergo, if I had said the things that Oprah said it would be playing the race card, but, because it was Oprah saying them, it wasn't the race card?

19. Strategery?
Now that Hillary and the loser candidates are off the radar, Obama and Edwards are in the spotlight getting pelted with any missiles the hoi polloi wish to throw at them.

Seems it gives Clinton, Richardson and Kucinich some breathing room for a comeback. I think this time the February 5th primaries will determine the next Democratic candidate, not Iowa and New Hampshire.

I can't see how a state like Iowa that is 95% white, and overwhelmingly Christian can be regarded as a microcosm of the rest of the nation anymore anyway.
