Iraqis resort to selling children
http://english.aljazeera.net/NR/exeres/F22B4D85-59F6-4778-8E9F-C15E7F1CDB40.htm

this is what * has Iraqis resorting to:

Abu Muhammad, a Baghdad resident, found it difficult to let go of his daughter's hand but he had already convinced himself that selling her to a family outside Iraq would provide her with a better future.

"The war disgraced my family. I lost relatives including my wife among thousands of victims of sectarian violence and was forced to sell my daughter to give my other children something to eat," he told Al Jazeera.

3. I wonder if they would barter as easily?
I have two goats this year who refuse to produce and I will need a little more help next year planting and harvesting about 35 acres of corn...

How many Iraqis could I get for a goat?

:sarcasm:

4. This problem is not limited to Iraq.
Human trafficing is a world wide problem and has been for a very long time. Including right here in the good old US of A. ABC just recently reported between 12,000 and 18,000 people were sold inside the United States in 2007. This included babies sold to couples wanting kids and children and women sold into sex slavery. I saw 2 articles in the last year of Americans being busted for buying black market organs - were these people sold only to be murdered and reduced to "parts"?

GW and the Pukes are scumbags but we can't hang this on their heads. These things happened all over the world, probably in Iraq too, long before March 2003.

5. Of course it's not limited to Iraq.
But it is a new developement in Iraq, its arrival coinciding with American liberation & occupation.

11. So you're saying it has not changed any since the Invasion?
The rate of child selling has not risen any in Iraq despite the fact a once reasonably prosperous nation has been plunged into squalor & chaos?

7. I thought selling human beings wasn't sanctioned in the
democracy we are bringing to them. Anyone asking questions of the Bush administration here?

10. George Bush's illegal war and occupation.
That is how it should be remembered in the history books.

12. Selling them for what exactly?
Edited on Mon Jan-07-08 12:04 PM by IronLionZion
I'm really suspicious of anyone who wants to buy human beings. Hopefully some of these people just want to adopt the kids but I'm afraid of the sex and organ trafficking. It's a nasty situation.

on edit: fuck this, it isn't worth getting banned.
