And no, smart guy, I don't mean a freak occurrence where we wind up with a Lieberman/Zell ticket...

7. i really think that after all the fucked up abuse this country has
incurred over the past 8 years the odds are slim that dems are going to not vote as a form of protest. (we've been protesting enough as it is for so long--i certainly wouldn't let the chance to get the fuck rid of republicans slip by)

36. Don't laugh, but I think McCain/Lieberman might be a problem
The experienced moderate McCain and Joe the DINO (who really doesn't seem all that different from Clinton). I don't know who Clinton or Obama could pick as a VP to counter that, but I honestly think a McCain/Lieberman ticket might be a tough one to beat. That's why I'm hoping for Huckabee/Norris or Rudy/Condi.

17. Yes, there are.
"I never submitted the whole system of my opinions to the creed of any party of men whatever, in religion, in philosophy, in politics, or in anything else, where I was capable of thinking for myself. Such an addiction is the last degradation of a free and moral agent. If I could not go to heaven but with a party, I would not go there at all." --Thomas Jefferson to Francis Hopkinson, 1789.

"Were parties here divided merely by a greediness for office,...to take a part with either would be unworthy of a reasonable or moral man." --Thomas Jefferson to William Branch Giles, 1795.

21. Corporate Welfare
I personally am not in favor of companies that make record profits getting corporate welfare, federal subsidies, or mandates. As a result, any candidate with a position that forces me to give money to an oil company, a Health Insurance company or the like, I will not vote for.

Its not about the candidate, its about the issues for me, and frankly, I want a candidate that represents the people, not the Wealthy or the Corporate.

“Freedom for supporters of the government only, for members of one party only, no matter how big its membership may be is, no freedom at all. Freedom is always freedom for the man who thinks differently."

38. If I found a special pair of glasses that reveal a secret race of aliens
that have taken over our country, sending us subliminal messages to "Consume" and "Obey", and I can see that our nominee is part of this alien ruling class, then I will not vote for them - and may consider a) chewing bubble gum and b) kicking some serious ass.

Edited on Mon Jan-07-08 04:31 PM by Marr
As is every other "far left" Democrat.

Of course, I expect that claim will be dropped the instant their candidate loses the election, and the 'far left' will be to blame.
