I'm sticking with Kucinich, and here's why.

I cannot, in good conscience throw my support behind any candidate who refuses to address the crimes of the Bush administration. Hillary refuses to address them. Obama believes that mistakes were made, but nothing rises to the level of impeachable offenses. He would just as soon sweep everything under the rug and promise that when he becomes president, he will have an open government. Edwards comes right out and admits that crimes were committed by this administration, but that he doesn't favor impeachment. Instead, he feels it's more important to focus on his nomination.

I am sick of politicians with blind ambition. They can talk all they want to about how they fought for the common people before they got into politics. That rhetoric would carry some weight with me, if they carried that through as politicians. But you cannot, get it, CANNOT seriously travel the countryside, spouting off about how you champion the people of this country, when you are too chickenshit to pull back the curtain and shine a bright light on the charlatans that have made a mockery of our constitution and are handing the treasure of this country over to powerful corporations. Going after Bush and Cheny, holding them, as well as Rumsfeld, Rice, Gonzalez and a host of others accountable, is a logical and extremely necessary extension of protecting and defending our civil rights. To not do so as a politician is just plain cowardly.

Only Kucinich has had the balls to call for impeachment, to actually introduce articles of impeachment. He seems to be the only one of all the candidates who "gets it."

If I have to, (and it looks that way) I will write his name in, come November. I'm through compromising. I've found the candidate who I KNOW will fight for us, and work hard to make this a better world, and I'm not about to switch.

2. Kucinich speaks for me
He's the only one with the courage of his convictions. The only one to walk his talk. He had my vote in 2004, and has it now.

6. If you think Kucinich is the best candidate you should stick to your guns
That said, I am supporting Edwards, because in the calculus of "does things i like" and "Likely to be elected" he's got the best score.

16. I'm sticking with DK too. He's the real deal I believe.
Last time I felt remorse that I'd gone for others too soon, rather than supporting DK up to the point where he dropped out. I've contributed a good bit to DK's campaign and I don't regret one penny of it. Whether he wins or not, he's raising the issues I want raised and saying the things that I want people to listen to. That's well worth the money to me. He has already influenced the other candidates I feel sure and he'll continue to influence them as long as he's in the race.

I'll vote for whoever is the Dem candidate, but I'll also feel good that I supported DK. No way I can lose.

Prominent Americans Ask John Conyers to Begin Impeachment

http://www.afterdowningstreet.org/?q=node/29853

"...However, the federal courts and Congress (even with a Democratic majority) have utterly failed to hold the President and his administration accountable and to put an end to the egregious violations of law and abuses of power...

...When the courts and Congress fail in their duties to challenge and repair abuses of executive power, they condone the abuses and are thereby complicit in undermining our Constitution, our international standing, and our nation’s commitment to the rule of law..."

19. Good point, and in fact I don't see the problem for the others
I think if they took the same position DK has, they'd be more popular. Maybe they'd be less popular with the right wing nutjobs, but they never had a chance with them anyway.

20. Another great post by Joe Fields!
I totally understand your reasoning here.

Everytime I've considered the other candidates and I do some more reading and I check their voting records (if they have one);
I read what other contemporaries of theirs say and how they feel about them and then I *shudder*. It really and truly saddens me
that they had to support the Iraq War and then deny it and then apologize (sort of, in one case) and then they vote to fund it and they ignore us and renew the Patriot Act II and they vote with * and the list goes on and on and then I come back to Kucinich! He listens! He gets it! He's making every possible effort to save our Constitution and our country from these *&%$# criminals and I just can't make myself cast a vote that I don't feel in my heart and soul and I don't understand why others don't care enough about this country to do the same. So? I will also be voting for Dennis Kucinich in the primary on Feb. 5th in MA.

I think some things just can't be apologized away, and the person be rewarded with such a responsible job as POTUS.

29. Good on you!
Mind, I think Dennis has much to answer for, too. In his role as pied piper leading left Dems back to the fold, he helped in 2004 to kill anti-war efforts by endorsing John "Send me!" Kerry. He's promised not to do anything that shameful again; he surely wouldn't get away with it twice.

Dennis has many admirable qualities, he is the protest candidate and if his speechifying is to mean anything, it must mean this: one does not go gentle into the good night of voting for appeasers, sell-outs, and DINOs.

So I say stick to yer guns!
