If the Repubs could choose the Democratic nominee....?
Who do you think they would choose? Who do you think they could most easily beat in the general election? Who would they be most afraid of? If they chose to run a very negative campaign, not that they would do such a thing, but which Democrat would be the easiest for the Republicans to tear down?

2. Kucinich
It's all about media presence and Kucinich is probably the shortest on that (no pun intended).

They hate Clinton, but she'd still garner enough of the women's vote that she'd b e harder to tank than Dennis.

10. I cry bull.
All are vulnerable. Many Americans feel the need for true change and with the right mix of money and exposure Kucinich could be very viable. Don't fool yourself. Peace, Kim

13. If you had to pick one, which would it be?
The OP asked for a single choice. If the Republicans wanted to win in 2008 and got to pick the Democratic candidate to run against in the general (of the existing group) who do YOU think they would pick?

16. See post # 5.
I seriously feel that our top three 'choices' are very vulnerable. Because of the racist nature of so many in our country, Obama is probably the most vulnerable. But then again we have the trial lawyer hatred and Hillary has been a kicking post for so many for so long. Peace, Kim

17. You'd really gun for a frontrunner instead of a marginal candidate?
If you wanted to win, wouldn't picking somebody who barely gained a percentage point or two of their own party's support be wiser?

18. We really can't settle.
More war, no Constitution, continual surveillance? What kind of a world is that. The people spoke last fall and said that they want change. True change not candy coated Repug light. If we don't serve it up we are lost because those folks will go back to their own party where they can be disappointed in their usual fashion. Not the fake up front kind. Peace, Kim

15. Well, I interpreted it as being a choice of the existing Dem candidates...
...if it's an open field, I would certainly garner less support than Kucinich....

...but, hopefully, more than Charles Manson...

21. Ahhhh.... But You Wish You Had as Much Attention
do you feel better about yourself when you do? "Ooooh"....

You said that hopefully you would get more attention than Manson and I replied, "probably not" because nobody knows MercutioATC. It's just an online entity or screen name with an attitude. Did that upset you in return, enough for you to respond? Yes it did, but what really did you expect? The internet is vast yet still lonely for some.... have a nice evening.

22. Actually, I said I hoped I'd get more support than Charles Manson.
...assuming some press, of course.

You're a strange little person to turn it into something...well.......weird....

5. Any of our 'top' three are ripe for the picking.
Each one has a glorious bruise on their ripe exterior. Sure to have putrefied by November.

9. If the Republicans put up the right candidate
They will have so much money pour in, that it won't matter which Democratic candidate they are up against. They will lie, confuse and lie.

They will try to disgust the voting public so that they just stay home. Which will help them because their hardcore voters will always show up to vote for more fear.

And finally, there are always the spectres of election fraud and martial law to close the deal.

12. The Repukes are so lacking a good candidate of their own
That they will fixate on the negatives of the Dem; which is their way as it is, let alone when whoever they have is a loser.

They will parade their sexism and racism; if Edwards get the nod; they will parade their tort deform ignorance. Now is the time to prepare how to not let them set the terms of debate this time.

Is American ready for a black president? YES. Move on to the issues.

Is America ready for a female president? YES. Move on to the issues.

What of Edwards and his trial lawyer past? Make that a positive for all it's worth. Make the repukes the DEFENDANT. Edwards will know how to do that and we can just follow.
