Would you people please cut it out already?!!
Edited on Tue Jan-08-08 03:59 PM by Labors of Hercules
I am so sick of running into these BULLSHIT "it's all the stupid bubblegum youths out there fucking up our system supporting Obama" posts! Even the polls here on DU prove you WRONG.

An amazing transformation is occurring!

We are taking back our Democracy, and if you don't like it, move to Russia.

Edited on Tue Jan-08-08 04:07 PM by impeachdubya
You know, the kind of orders which have been barked out here for the past 6 months: "Support XXXXXX in the primaries, Because XXXXX is going to WIN anyway! You are deluding yourselves and wasting your vote unless you support XXXXX blindly!"

Pesky fuckin' people, refuse to do as they're told. They should just accept what the Powers-That-Be give 'em!

is good for our Democracy. And I have a problem with idiots who speak against that most fundamental fact.

Especially when this supposed "inevitability" was fully half of what they were running on to begin with.

to vote

I'm not exactly an oldie-moldy, but I am, and always have been, an advocate for people registering and voting, as soon as they are eligible to do so.

they said, "if you don't like what our government is doing."
Leave the country. Move to Canada, Venezuela, or Iran if you had any empathy for what Arabs were living through.

You must be so proud that you learned the lesson so well.

21. didn't read the post, did you?
I would rather have your candidate win the nomination from a turnout of 600,000 than mine from a turnout of 200,000.

Does that answer your question?

for no apparent reason. I found it absurd and replied in kind.

22. Here's the demo breakdown of Iowa's caucus.
http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/primaries/results/epolls/#val=IADEM

You'll see that, while Obama's support tended to be younger (more under age 45s than over), he attracted votes from a diverse spectrum of people.

29. Good! I've been hoping for the youth to get more involved for a long time.
I want to see them taking back our democracy by walking precincts, making calls from party hq, getting mailers out to voters, as my generation from the 60s has been doing in every election I can remember. In the past, the youth vote hasn't come through the way we'd hoped. Now there is the real promise it will happen!

If the youth can spearhead a revolution for democracy in our country, I say more power to them! Their help is badly needed, and has been for some time, by the activists who over the years saw Democrats with real vision go down in flames in election after election. Thank god for new blood!
