Corporate America bought Dems in Congress, is the presidential race a rerun?
they funded their campaigns, made threats and promises and the Dems in Congress lined up and did exactly as the lobbyists told them to do.

With the same folks putting the muscle, and money behind Obama and Clinton's campaigns, will we see the same thing happen if either wins the WH?

3. Mmm, I don't think Edwards is
but I certainly believe we'll a lot of broken campaign promises if Obama and even perhaps if Hillary wins.

15. What you're telling isn't true.
Dennis Kucinich also has pleaded for breaking up the current media ownership.

13. I don't argue that. Like I said in my initial post: I believe Obama is bought and paid.
But that doesn't mean Edwards did the same thing. I have a big problem with people saying: "well, but he did it too" or: "well, he did worse things". Like that makes it okay for your candidate to do things that aren't right?

18. And your focus is
Obama, Hillary did it, Edwards did it, but then you went into denial

But that doesn't mean Edwards did the same thing.

Sooo you ARE part of the smear campaign then...right!!

20. So I made a mistake as I wrote my post. It was very clear from my initial post
that I believe Edwards is bought and paid just like Obama. I have repeated that in other posts in this thread. I simply made a mistake in writing the post you're referring to. No need to instantly get paranoia and accuse me of all sorts of things.

14. Why don't you post a counter-argument instead of rolling your eyes?
Or do I ask too much?

4. You are close to the truth, but that has held true since

I was old enough to vote in 1961. We can break the corporate stranglehold, however, if Main Street America turns out to vote in record numbers this year and if our Democratic candidates do their job once elected and legislate according to the will of the people, not as a rubber stamp to the corporations.

btw I don't think Edwards is in the hip pocket of any corporation at this date. It may have been true in the past but not now.

5. Except Obama would be in major shit

If he spouts all this hope claptrap and then people realise he is just the same old run of the mill or does win the WH and then reverts to Washington type, imagine the fury vented in here.

There is one thing building hope but if people realise you cant deliver it or change your mind to the opposite, you better be prepared for the consequences.

6. News media will cover for him
just as they do for Bush. They'll give him a protective "teflon" coating.

21. I'm also not buying....
....the corporate horse and pony show - corporatist A or B winning an election is not 'change'....if this current crop of 'change' wasn't under control, you'd never hear the word 'change' being used....

....progressives have no-say in the corporate controlled Democratic Party....we'll have no-say in a their corporatists' presidency either....now, if a relatively poor and unknown progressive could stumble across 100 million dollars to run in the corporate Democratic primary for the corporate presidency, I'd say you were wrong....but unfortunately, you're right....

....hey, they don't need people like us, they demonstrate it all the time in their words and deeds....it's just another corporate controlled election cycle with predictable results....
