I don't know about the rest of you but I can't wait for the freepers to go back to lurking. I can't believe the nastiness that abounds regarding different candidates. It goes way beyond preferences to downright gleeful meanness. I refuse to believe that the nastiness I have witnessed is coming from true progressives but from patient lurkers who have built up post just for the election season.
Please do not get sucked into the dark side. It is better just to ignore.

that there is contention between candidates. The nastiness says to me that much of it is Republican assholery, and ignore/hidethread is probably the way to go.

9. I don't know if they are genuine trolls, but I've noticed that many of the nasties are conservative.

They may be "Democrats" but they tend to be righties, in my experience. The nastiest posters, I mean. Every now and then there will be a really rude lefty, but most of the nasties are fairly conservative, I've noticed.

10. I don't think that those are really freepers - most freeps have poor impulse control.

Freeps go on brief joyrides here. They just don't have the ability to stay incognito for long.

There's no doubt that there's an influx of trolls with low post counts posting flamebait, but there's also little doubt that some long-term DUers are doing the same. Some of them could certainly be patient freepers, but not all of them are.
