4. It was interesting to re-read...

It was interesting to re-read all the BBV/DU brouhaha that happened. I also wonder what's happened to some of the more prolific posters from 2003-2004 who seem to have dropped off DU's radar.

Bit of a validation for me to see that many of the posters I currently admire were on (what I believe to be) the correct side of the dispute.

And I'd completely forgotten about TinFoilHatProgrammer-- our (then) resident Diebold employee(?) who always had a kind word to say about e-voting.

I'll be the first to admit that I had bought into Bev's story from the beginning. It took me a while, but I got better... :)

when someone posted an article from her here on DU. No one seemed to be upset.

I questioned the poster, but got no reply.

For anyone that was not here during the Bev wars, please know that Bev Harris was banned from this site twice. She threatened to sue Skinner!

But what she did to Andy Stephenson was unforgivable. I hate her w/the heat of a thousand suns.

40. AFAIK, Electronic Frontier Foundation and Verified Voting are both reputable

I just wrote checks to each of them as part of my two dozen New Year contributions -- seeing as how I didn't manage to get everything done as my End of the Old Year contributions.

They also take donations online, just like everyone else.

As for the thread actually praising Bev Harris -- it's a damn good thing there's some institutional memory here at DU.
