3. Bombs away!!!!
Edited on Wed Jan-09-08 12:08 PM by butlerd
There's no problem out there that can't be solved by dropping a few bombs on another country we don't like and have never really tried to have a meaningful dialogue with in order to...you know...avoid war.

:sarcasm:

6. It's interesting to note that most of the countries we've attacked never actually threatened us
AFAIK Bush is the only world leader so far that has issued veiled threats about a World War III and some conservatives actually believe we are already IN World War III (or IV depending on their interpretation of the Cold War).

7. Therefore..it can be used as a handy bogeyman by politicians. Desptie the NIE.
“The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary.” H.L. Mencken

8. Iran's entire military budget is $4 billion
That is one quarter of the New York City school budget.

I can barely sleep at night, worrying that the Iranian Navy will land on Long Island with their 5 motorboats and take over the US!

:scared:

9. Iran is a threat to a country with 200-400 nukes and another with 10,000?
That's a crock of shit, and everyone in Congress knows it.

Israel is worried that if Iran gets nukes, it could deter them from attacking neighbors like Lebanon and Syria at will, as they do now, if Iran extends its "nuclear umbrella" to allies the way the US has to non-nuke allies, promising nuclear retaliation if those nations are nuked.

So the threat is not the annihilation of Israel but peace, and the end of the expansion of Israel through the West Bank to the Jordan River.

14. This is all a major scam.
Iran is a threat to the Western Oil Corps profit margins.

Israeli Govt. knows damn well that Iran would never attack Israel.
Iranians are not suicidal.
