The immaturity of a lot of Obama supporters is showing
Immediately after Iowa, so many naive, giddy voices started popping up at DU. Now he loses one by a few points and so many whiny voices start talking about the vote being rigged? You do see the humor in that, right?

I'm just saying, it's kind of embarrassing. What about winning and losing graciously?

9. My bad then
My conclusion of it being "a lot" was based on the fact that they were able to take over the overall tone and storyline at DU today. So if in fact it were just a few who were able to accomplish this, then I stand corrected.

Edited on Wed Jan-09-08 01:11 PM by Atman
After all, how are they to know? Don't you see the larger issue here? This is going to continue happening -- and it will get worse -- as long as these goddamn proprietary secret privatized voting machines are allowed to exist. Would many/any of these people have spoken up twenty years ago? No, because there was always a way to go back and trace the results. Even in regard to stories of dead people showing up on voter rolls, at least that could be easily traced to a paper record, too. Now, we can't do jack about anything. Can't ask for a recount -- hell, can't even do one if you asked. Can't do any sort of audit. And we're told to simply trust a couple of large corporations who happen to be in bed with one of the parties.

And you dare call Obama supporters whiners? There is no gracious win in a rigged game. And no loss should be taken graciously when there are questions hanging over it.

Thank Bush and e-voting.

44. What I don't understand is why would the rigging just have to do with Obama? Why not rig it to
put Edwards in 3rd to insure he doesn't rise. Edwards folks could play the same game if they wanted to.

I heartily distrust electronic voting but I don't see how a Clinton win is more advantageous for Rovian corporate tricksters than an Obama win. They seem pretty okay with Obama and he wants to play nice with them. He doesn't seem like a threat to me.

50. Republicans have invested years in training their pavlovian base
to hate Clintons. It's just easier for them. The groundwork was laid years ago.

When I see the people who have built the ER forum expressing their much more informed concern, I need to listen up.

The bottom line is, none of our excellent candidates are a threat if they can steal it come November. That's the real issue here.

47. Politics in general have steadily become immature endeavors
over the last several election cycles. I am new here, but am alarmed not at the whining going on when this or that candidate loses, what concerns me is the "sandbox" mentality that pervades democratic politics IMO. I have read several threads and have just started posting as I formed my opinion, but this whole contingent of "If I don't get the candidate I want I'm taking my toys and going home" posters is driving me nuts. This was the exact demeanor of voters that got us into 8 years of the "Decider" to start with. This is life, you don't get "everything" you want, if you don't want to vote democratic, go play in another sandbox and stop whining when you lose and crowing when you win...both prospects demean the discussion.

errr...I mean they're young.

Goodness gracious give the kids a break. They worked their asses off in Iowa and it paid off, they were giddy.

I'm thinking women came out in droves in NH because they saw Hillary getting attacked and when she had her mini-moment, that did it for many of the female gender. I felt very sorry for her after the debate question about her "likability" and the "mini-moment" - I wouldn't have changed my vote, but I can understand why many women might have.
