To the Editor,

Last week, crude oil hit the $100 a barrel milestone, four times what it was in 2002. This was not an accident, but the result of years of labor from men like Joe Barton, the largest congressional recipient of oil and gas campaign contributions. And George W. Bush, with his disastrous Mideast policies and his personal Saudi debt.

So where’s their photo-op for this momentous occasion?

I think they ought to go back to the USS Abraham Lincoln and drag out that old banner to stand in front of for a celebration photo shoot. This time the words on the banner will finally ring true.

“Mission Accomplished.”
