You know what they say. When the Warriors for Christ and the Chaps lace 'em up, you can throw out the records.

Chris Andrews
Lansing State Journal

Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee will campaign in St. Johns on Friday night.

Huckabee, former governor of Arkansas, will stop by the homeschoolers' basketball game between the St. Johns Warriors for Christ and the Lansing Chaps.

The game will be at the Wilson Center, 101 W. Cass St. Huckabee is expected to arrive between 8:30 and 9 p.m., about the time of the varsity game's halftime.

1. So if St John's loses, does that mean there is no God?
I HATE sports teams that claim to be "Warriors for Christ".

2. Big home-school leagues in Michigan.
They're quite organized. Considering I haven't heard many here in Michigan for Huckabee, I guess he's going after any and all constituencies he can.

3. I'm sure there are some outstanding home-schooled programs and don't doubt
there are parents who do a professional job at it. I'm not sure which is the best way to teach. However, I have some first-hand experience with a home-schooled group (as part of a volunteer group, I gave them 1/2 day lectures and hands-on with a biology related subject). They were very attentive and very well behaved and seemed to appreciate the time I spent with them. I did feel sad though because two of the parents told me that they don't have the resources to do the depth of teaching that the students needed. I think there is some short changing going on with them, but hopefully they make up for it on some other subjects.

5. Are they allowed to fake passes? Drill into the key? Rebound defensively?
Speak of the cheerleaders' comely ankles?
