UKTimes: White House is not happy with the timing of Blair's Iraq troop announcement

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/politics/article1421381.ece

<snip>

Diplomatic sources in Wash-ington told The Times that the White House had been unhappy with Mr Blair’s announcement so soon after Congress had delivered its rebuke of the planned increase in US troop levels in Iraq. Although President Bush had long been aware that Britain was likely to begin withdrawing troops this year, he believed that “the timing of this was not helpful”, with aides asking if this “really needed to be done now”.

15. Good point
I don't think they even care about credibilty anymore.
They just say the 1st thing off the top of their head, and let it go at that.

The bottom line is always "screw you, we'll do what we want".
I've never seen an admin like this, and I'm old.
it's no surprise they're the Republican Party's worst enemy.

32. Publicly it's a sign of success; Privately it's a defection from the coalition of the coerced
The Bush2 administration is all about power, politics and marketing.

16. Waaaaaah! Bush's girlfriend dumping him?
Gee, George, didja think when the entire U.S. military, the Iraqi government and all our coalition partners had reached a consensus last year that gradual withdrawal was the way to go, and then you reversed that policy on the advice of some out-there neocons, that they'd all go, "Well, George has changed our minds, let's all fall in line!"

The arrogance of these chumps is just breathtaking. They swagger around bullying friend and foe alike, then get all hurt when they aren't loved in return.

17. The White House needs to get it's story straight.
One minute Blair's actions are a true sign of success in Iraq, that this was the plan all along. Now they're unhappy because Blair is getting the hell out of the Messopotamia. Which is it? Split personalities at the Bush White House. Schizophrenia rules the day.

19. As we surge up
Britain stands down...

heard on the news last night that one of the reasons behind pulling out as opposed to sending the British troops into Baghdad or other area under US "control" is that there is great concern over the competency of how bush and his pet generals are running things...

25. And we, the people, are not happy with YOU, Mr. Bush. It looks like nobody is happy.
The Iraqis aren't happy that we are occupying their country and stealing their oil revenues, the American people aren't happy that our government is looking more and more like a dictatorship, the White House isn't happy that they can't control the media overseas like they control our own media, and least happy of all are the U.S. troops, especially those awaiting services in Building 18 at Walter Reed Hospital.

26. There is his excuse
The Dems were against a troop surge and the Brits pulled out, that is why it failed. George once again does not have to take any responsibility for anything. Every soldier that dies will be the Dems fault, every day longer that we are in Iraq will be the Brits fault. If we had only followed the superior intellect of George W. Bush (the Christian) we would be better off and we would have taken care of the infidels.

You can't blame him before, because nobody has a crystal ball. You can't blame him during because that is not the time to point fingers. You can't blame him after because that is the time to move on.

36. Simple?
Bush is not consulting with them and how they will be endangered in the coming iran adventure. So why should they consult with getting their people out of harm's way and giving a silent slap against being victimized for a wider regional war?

Again, maybe it is not clear to the population of the media blinded United States, but bush's sneaky march against Iran replete with repeats and all the familiar chess pieces is having an effect. Of course, everyone in America can still believe Bush is not going to war and that it suddenly is only because of the Iraq quagmire, that, coincidentally, suddenly in unison, people are making things tough on Bush.

40. too bad you SOB's about the timing.
It's unbelieveable how these slime bags turn things around and interpret things differently than the reality based people,

Cheney said Iraq is a success if the British are pulling out, and we view it as a failure, that is why the British are leaving, everything with these guys are the opposite they are totally detached from reality, and what did they say they are re writing history?? apparently these slimeballs do not know anything about history.
