Interesting speculation on why Sen. Obama lost yesterday’s NH Primary……..
The polls showed that Sen. Obama had a huge 14-point lead over Sen. Clinton. and the race was tight for the repuke candidates.

In New Hampshire, only Independents can choose whether to vote using a Democratic or Republican primary ballot. The savvy, repuke-leaning Independents had a choice of voting for: (1) Sen. Obama, who they think will be the easiest Democrat to beat in November, or (2) Sen. McCain to prevent lame-ass Romney or Huckabee from winning.

Not enough right-leaning Independents voted for Sen. Obama to keep Sen. Clinton from winning.

I don't have any proof of this so this is just speculation. But we all know that repukes can be very organized in their underhanded dealings.

1. Anything to keep from believing that women chose Clinton.
In this version, all the action is male.

2. Just something I came across
Here's a link to an article I came across. I'm not vetting it, just pointing it out.

I would not be shocked if this were true.

3. Perhaps it was non-response bias.
For example, people who voted for Clinton may have been less likely to admit it publically to a pollster.

I'm guessing because of shame.

4. Polls say Hillary, not Obama, would be easiest for them to beat
If so, Repukes have the wrong impression of who our best candidate is. They indeed should want Hillary to win.

According to this poll...

Obama would defeat McCain by 17 points.
McCain would defeat Hillary by 4 points.

5. It probably comes from a combination of things
I think that it is well-known that people who fit the right-wing/fascist personality profile are much more apt to use that sort of gamesmanship you describe, so no doubt some of them are trying to "assist" the Democrats in choosing a candidate.

Also, I think Barack's bump in the polls was only about a week old, and "Obamamania" was still running wild when the polls were taken. So a lot of his support at the time was fairly weak.

Finally, and most perhaps importantly in my opinion, the last major news story before people went to the polls was of the video of Hillary getting emotional about her country. This was enough to bring some of the fence-sitters back to her side in time for the vote.

I think that Hillary will win this election with a plurality. If Edwards drops out early, then Obama will win.

6. You win a pretty flower...
or something.

That swung it, and the emote that played ad infinitum on every channel.
