Richard Lewis on Countdown last night speaking about "The Half-Hour Newshour"
was utterly incomprehensible. The only thing I could think of was that he had SO much frustration built up inside him brought on by the multitude of ** admin sins that he wanted to speak about all of them and therefore really spoke about none.
Utterly Incomprehensible. That man must have serious ADD. He couldn't stay focused long enough to finish a sentence. I'm sure his intentions were good, but, boy he sounded like a nutcase.
11. Did you here the really loud comments being made
before he was officially "on"? I am assuming that they had him miked and sitting in the studio ready to go on when it was time, but it sounded like he was making really loud commentary on the news Keith was doing.
12. Yah, I did hear that. If they have him back they will probably have
to coach him a bit. I think he potentially had a lot of good things to say, but as someone else said he had trouble focusing and getting it all organized for the audience outside of his head.
He does this self-obsessed Woody Allen thing that's all about fear and loathing but without any real insights. He's not an astute observer of anything but himself. What political comments he managed to get out between resorting to his old bits for laughs were vapid and shallow. Just...eccchhhhhhh.
I had harbored a vague hope that he would bring some of his obvious intelligence and wit to bear on the wretched Fox Noise "comedy" show and why it was wretched, but they barely touched on that.
I used to like him, about 20 years ago, on David Letterman's show. But 20 years of the same old "I'm a hypermanic loser" schtick is about 19 years too many.
It was horribly embarrassing to watch. I don't think he'll be back.
