This is an ongoing trial in British Columbia. Some of the details are petty horrific. The head and hands of a woman found in a pail.



Robert William ("Willie") Pickton (b. October 24, 1949)<1> of Port Coquitlam, British Columbia is a third-generation pig farmer<2> who has been charged<3> with the first degree murders of twenty-six women, many of them prostitutes and drug users from Vancouver's Downtown Eastside.

Pickton is currently on trial for six of these murders. During the trial's first day, January 22, 2007, the Crown stated he confessed to forty-nine murders to an undercover police officer posing as a cell mate. The crown reported that Pickton told the officer that he wanted to kill another woman to make it an even 50, and that he was caught because he was "sloppy".<4> The trial is expected to take up to a year or more. <5>

1. It took the cops there too many years to bother to

investigate this piece of garbage. The disappearances of prostitutes weren't taken seriously, even though these women had families in town who were crying for help. They knew for many years that there were some very serious rumors about what Pickton was into on that farm, yet they failed to follow up on most of it. Street hookers had identified Pickton time and time again as the last person they saw missing women with, but the cops dropped the ball and failed to search his farm for remains.

See? It doesn't happen only in the US and Mexico.

Those women's families have to live not only with their deaths, but also with the fact that they might have inadvertently eaten parts of them thinking they were pork products. I don't know why but this strikes me as perticularly sick. I hope the guy fucking rots in jail forever. In solitary, if possible.
