2. The sickness goes deep.
It will all come home to us one day. Those who do not stand up against this now do not have a right to complain when this arrives at our doorstep. So sad. Kim

3. Seymour Hersh
Has said that the army in Iraq is the most brutal that the US has ever sent to fight a war. I find that chilling, and frustrating, and wearying........and remember that these men are the face of America to those outside your borders.

5. Awesome. The letter from the Iraqi woman says it all. It explains why
G.W. Bush and his 'posse', as well as the NeoCons that envisioned this invasion, should all be tried and imprisoned. It explains why the USA and its poodle allies cannot possibly 'win' in the Middle East. It explains why the number of terrorists hating the USA has grown by 700%. It explains it all.

14. Not just terrorists hate the U.S. government
If I were American I would be so ashamed I would leave. My ancestors came over on the second ship after the Mayflower. One was hung as a witch in Salem but most of them stayed till the revolution before heading north to Canada. (I KNOW the "Revolution" was "glorious".)Canada exists mainly because its inhabitants never agreed with America foreign policy. Who needs to be "great"? Better to live as a peaceful backwater.
Not that we don't have lots to be ashamed of. We have treated our First Nations people shamefully but I don't think we gave them blankets with small pox or paid $50.00 a scalp. We had slavery for a bit but afterwards we welcome all those who came here on the Underground Railroad. Not only that but we drove back slavers who dared to come over the border trying to recapture them. See book I'VE GOT A HOME IN GLORYLAND. Just out.

What's happening there now --- the torture and murder and theft of the oil. I would have to leave and never look back. I don't see the Democrats changing your foreign policy much. I would die of shame to be American now!

15. I plan to be out of the USA by the end of 2010. However, Canada will not take me in, because I
will retired and living on a pension. I will have about $500,000 American dollars to buy property and make sure that I can continue to support myself. But Canada will only accept working Americans.

20. I'm surprised about that
I understood that quite a few Americans were buying property in Nova Scotia and retiring there. Americans have cottages all around me here in "cottage country" Southern Ontario. Didn't know there was any time limit on how long they could stay in the country once they owned property. You would get a very sumptuous place in some parts of the country with five hundred thousand U.S.

Well sorry to hear we are so mean. Wait for Bushie to stage a fake terrorist attack on the Capital Building, blame it on Iran, and declare martial law. Then you can come in as a refuge. Be my guest. I live in a log house in the woods and you could hide out for a while.

I wouldn't put ANYTHING past that bunch!

8. There is no excuse on this earth for the criminal activity perpetrated against those children
They are creating an entire new generation of people who will stop at nothing to seek revenge against the aggressors and occupiers of their families and country.

And I don't blame them one damn bit.

18. I started reading this early this morning
I just finished reading the entire site. After reading the pain from the army men and woman, I am as pained for them as I am for the poor Iraqis. Nothing is worth this slaughter of innocents. Look what they've done to our sons and daughters.

Fugg oil and Fuck Bush, Blair and his supporters.
Check out these to calm down after the pain from the OP.

America In Denial

Well America's in denial
No they didn't do that to us
No they wouldn't lie and cheat
And do all that kind of stuff
Yes we've heard it all so many times
That it sounds just like the truth
Yet the path it took shows what it is
If you just care to look

No they wouldn't do that to us
No they wouldn't do that to us
They wouldn't lie and cheat
And do all that kind of stuff

Now the religious right can't believe it
Yes they played that religious card
But they wouldn't lie and cheat
And pay us no regard

I've got 24 hrs. of electricity
Water runs when I turn the tap
Life's good here in America
I've got no problem with that
But we can't secure our borders
Katrina showed us to be inept
Yet we tell the world how to run their lives
As we go deeper in debt

Now Saddam he was our guy
Till he crossed that imaginary line
We quit giving him poison gas and weapons
Cause all of a sudden he was a bad guy
We didn't care about all his killings
We didn't care about his people then
But now it's become about the 4th or 5th reason
For invading his land

They say Iraqis want us there
But they voted for us to get out
Of course they didn't spin it that way
They made it sound like we were boy scouts
They call the insurgents terrorists
Yet all they want is for us to leave
Take our puppet government with us
And let them really be free

We've become a torturer nation
We've become just like all the rest
We're now the face of evil
From the east to the west
They use the war on terrorism
To imprison who they choose
Sounds like some Tin Pot Dictator
Who thinks he's got nothing to lose

Yeah, America's in denial
Willful blindness or ignorance
You want everything to be OK
Leave the past in the distance
We're losing civil liberties
We have disregard for the law
The country's going bankrupt
Too bad our kids will have to pay for it all

We try to spread democracy
All around the world
But our last two elections
Haven't exactly been pearls
They're trying to pass a law in Ohio
Making it illegal to contest Federal elections
Does that sound like democracy to you?
I don't think I like our direction

Well they call us all traitors
When we speak out in dissent
But that's our job as Americans
To expose a corrupt government
They use the war on terrorism
To cover up their crimes
We're at war, they say, we have to do this
It's just a product of the times

Well it's time to wake up America
Our economy's based on war
They keep us in constant fear
And the rich get more and more
We once stood high around the world
But all that's gone flat
Hey, it's my America too, you know
And I don't like where it's at

10. Don't Forget: The Iraqis Were Already a Beleaguered People
Before we sent in our posse to 'straighten them out'.

My God, how arrogant our neoconservative leadership is. And how devastating the effects will be for years to come...on Americans...AND Iraqis.

16. I have a bumper sticker on both my cars that reads "God Forgive America".
Someone here made them for me and have them for sale on Cafepress.com. I live in a red state, with 85% Southern Baptists, and there are tons of cars sporting "God Bless America" stickers. I couldn't take it anymore.

17. I just sent this link to the editor of my local paper, along with a message . . .
Subject: War in Iraq

Please look at this webpage:
http://www.thewe.cc/contents/more/archive/soldiers_against_the_war.htm

Every day for the past four years or so, I have read the mini-bios of US personnel killed in Iraq and Afghanistan in the Journal News' "Roll of Honor" column. I make it a point to read every word of every one to pay tribute to these men and women and to honor their sacrifice.

But I'm sick to death of it. This morning I read about Maj. Michael L. Mundell from Kentucky. Maj. Mundell left his wife, Audrey, and four children: Erica,17; Ryan,14,Zachary,13, and Dale,11. These children -- all in their vulnerable and difficult teen years -- will never again see their father, and Audrey will have to raise and support them all by herself. And for what?

How much longer must we sacrifice our sons, daughters, fathers and mothers to an illegal and immoral war that was begun on completely fabricated "evidence?" How much longer is the Journal News going to be posting these sterile bios and pretend that you're covering the war? How much longer is the Journal News and the rest of the "mainstream media" going to "protect" us from the realities of what BushCo is doing in Iraq?

Please look at this webpage: http://www.thewe.cc/contents/more/archive/soldiers_against_the_war.htm

It's posted by U.S. Soldiers Against the Iraq War AND DOCUMENTS THEIR FIRST-HAND EXPERIENCE IN IRAQ! Please share it with other editors. And then please start reporting the horrific realities of a war that is claiming American and Iraqi lives by the thousands. And please be sure to include graphic photos of the carnage in your coverage so that your readers will know what this disgraceful war is REALLY doing to people -- Americans and Iraqis alike.

Thank you.

31. What a load of horseshit
No Iraqi woman wrote that. I know and work with several Iraqi women, and they don't talk like that. That was written by some Internet political junky, no doubt a 20-something male; the Youtube kid with the water bottle reference is a dead giveaway.
