Kucinich invited, then un-invited to Nevada Debate
Remember when Hillary and Edwards had that early brief exchange about "narrowing" the debate field? It's working.

My question: why are the "Big Three" so terrified of Dennis discussing the issues?

1. Is he going to do pirate TV?
Edited on Mon Jan-14-08 12:19 AM by upi402
What is the 'special truck' he's needing donations for?

"The mass media cut Dennis Kucinich out of the televised debates in Iowa and again in New Hampshire. And now - after inviting Dennis to participate in the NBC/MSNBC debate in Las Vegas on Tuesday, the invitation was taken away ... TAKEN AWAY!!

We are fighting this exclusion on many fronts because we want you and the rest of America to hear Dennis on Tuesday. But we need your help in this fight. Please contribute.

We are hiring a special TV engineering truck that can send Dennis' broadcasts to all the TV and radio stations around Nevada and the rest of the country. We will even be doing a live webcast. Dennis' voice will not be silenced.

But this will cost money. Please send a contribution now."

"someday", as in after an election win founded on tooth fairy promises and platitudes.

And then what have we won? More corporatism (fascism-lite).

4. I don't know
his actions are shouting down any words he may have spoken.

Of course, considering the fact that Dennis brought every single issue the Democrats are talking about this year to the fore in 2004, it doesn't surprise me that the Gang of Three wouldn't want Dennis reminding the American people of the fact. Like he says: "Wouldn't it be nice to have a President who was right the first time?"

Sure would, Dennis. And that, my friend, is why you aren't welcome in the debates.

5. Makes me wonder if blaming the media is entirely fair.

You certainly made some interesting points there. Especially after the *discussion* between Clinton & Edwards early in the debates......

Kucinich disinvited by NBC

http://www.upi.com/NewsTrack/Top_News/2008/01/11/kucinich_disinvited_by_nbc/2537/

Published: Jan. 11, 2008 at 9:11 PM

NEW YORK, Jan. 11 (UPI) --

Long shot presidential contender Dennis Kucinich has lashed out at NBC for disinviting
him from an upcoming Nevada presidential debate. The Ohio congressman says he is considering
taking legal action against the network, The Hill reported Friday.

NBC had invited Kucinich on Jan. 9, but rescinded its invitation Friday, when NBC Political
Director Chuck Todd told the Kucinich campaign that the network was "redoing" its participation
criteria, according to the campaign. Kucinich had qualified to participate in debate by coming
in fourth in a national poll with 3 percent.

NBC changed its criteria to focus the debate on the three national front-runners: Sens. Hillary
Clinton of New York, Barack Obama of Illinois and former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards.

In a statement, the Kucinich campaign cited "the blatant disregard of the public interest in
silencing public debate" that dissents with the views of NBC and its parent company, General Electric.

"When 'big media' exert their unbridled control over what Americans can see, hear, and read,
then the Constitutional power and right of the citizens to vote is being vetoed by
multibillion-(dollar) corporations that want the votes to go their way," the campaign said.

Please email NBC. Feel free to copy.

NBC/MSNBC, I object to your exclusion of Congressman Dennis Kucinich from the NBC/MSNBC Presidential debate on January 15, 2008. Mr. Kucinich, whom you invited and subsequently un-invited to the debate, is a presidential candidate who has fulfilled all Federal Elections Commission Criteria.
I remind you that you have been granted a license in order to operate.
I accuse you of violating and breaching the trust given to you by that license. I accuse you of tampering with the election and attempting to change the outcome of the election by excluding Dennis Kucinich.
I demand that you include Congressman Kucinich in the NBC Democratic debate of January 15, 2008 and all subsequent debates. The majority of the American people depend on television to be informed.
I remind you, therefore that if you do not include Mr. Kucinich in the aforementioned debate, you will be inflicting damages on the American people by depriving them of their right to be informed before making their decision to vote, (in addition to other damages) and inflicting damages on the Honorable Kucinich.

7. I am sure Harry Reid had something to do with this. He was on a local radio station
-KJFK in Reno- and basically said Kucinich should give it up and go away. It was totally rude.

Which is more than I can say for Senator Spineless and his partner in crime Speaker Jellyfish.

13. He should stop wasting everybody's time and drop out.
His campaign is accomplishing nothing.

No one hears his message and no one cares to.

All he does is whine and cry that nobody likes him and accept taxpayer funded matching funds to help finance his vanity candidacy.

I've really had enough of him.

Kucinich Packs Detroit University

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UxOHwu0CA5E

A packed audience at Detroit University gave Dennis Kucinich a standing ovation
after he spoke of how our position as a respected world leader has fallen because
of an illegal war and our disregard for international treaties. He gave a moving
testament to how we can return our country to its true path,
"...because we love America".
