I'm still on the Edwards / Obama fence. But if I read another thread about Hillary being a racist, or Obama "playing the race card," or the fucking cocaine bullshit, I think I might wind up voting for Huckabee before the seizure wears off.

Maybe I just need to beg off for a few days.

I just wish we were actually talking about politics, and not barking pre-fab PR soundbites and gossip at each other and slandering presumably decent people.

This is exactly what the republicans will start saying if this becomes a race/gender thing, that our primaries are a politically correct beauty pagent between a black man and white woman. This will be bad, because both these candidates HAVE substance, they are not running by race or gender thing. But if we make it a race gender thing, the Republicans will to be only TOO glad to accept it.

Oil, natural gas, wheat, soy, DU cameraderie, etc.

Inflation, the economy, the fact that scientists have grown a working heart, Bush & Co. crimes.

I'll tell ya. I have serious doubts that Clinton will not have the best interests of her buddies and big business at heart as president. Obama can charm a crowd, but can he finesse a peace that will devastate the profit revenue of the Bush-empowered military-industrial complex? Edwards is the only one saying anything that remotely means something to ME.

But, I'll tell you this. I would rather vote for and support whoever our nominee is, as long as they are a Democrat, than tear them down here on DU just because they don't happen to be my first choice. Anyone here who speaks negatively about another candidate might have to either swallow their words, when that candidate becomes the nominee, or back up their rhetoric by not voting for the nominee. Besides, my last choice for our nominee is a vastly better choice than the best the other side has to offer.
