Right Wing Propagates New Smear Against Obama, Says He Is Muslim ‘Apostate’ Who Will Be ‘Executed’

Last month, neocon Daniel Pipes published an essay titled “Was Barack Obama a Muslim.” Pipes, an adviser to Rudy Giuliani, posited that there is “a real possibility” that “some Islamists would renounce” Obama as an apostate “and would try to execute him” because of his limited contact with Islam as a child. Politico’s Ben Smith referred to it as “the Muslim smear, version 2.0.”

At a recent Washington Institute forum, U.S. News and World Report columnist Michael Barone quoted Pipes’ specious argument, calling it “a chilling thought,” but concluding that it’s “naive” to “expect the hearts of Muslims around the world are going to be warmed” by the prospect of an Obama presidency.

I think we all learned a great deal from John Kerry, when it comes to these scurrilous and
ridiculous Rove-style tactics. Kerry was a war hero and they managed to convince many
that he was a coward.

We learned that you do not allow them to attack you. We learned that "no comment" does not
make you appear to be "above board" and better than the candidate orchestrating the
attack.

If anything, we learned that failing to defend yourself allows the attack to metastasize
and makes you look like a doormat.

I really hope to Pete, that Barack Obama will hit these piece-of-shit bastards back with the full
force of everything that he has. He started out his campaign, saying that he "won't kneecap his
opponents".

Excuse me--but these soul-lacking bastards want to dice you into a million pieces any way
they can. Forget about kneecapping.

You fucking take them OUT with a brilliant counter strategy!

I support Obama and his policies. I'm right along side him, supporting him all the way. However,
we've never seen him put through the meat grinder of a presidential campaign, with Hillary and Bill
turning the crank.

He absolutely must respond with one liners and earth-moving admonishments that rock their universe.

Taking the stance that you're "better than all of that" will get you NOTHING. They come after you,
you go after them twice as hard! Use your supporters to speak for you. Call in your friends in
the Senate. Appeal to America. Make your case. Call them out and shame them into submission
like the dogs they are.

2. That last one is a wierd but recurrent theory

It happened around Kieth Ellison's election (who actually is a Muslim) the theory that Liberals are electing a Muslim or a person who had contact with the Muslim faith as a child as some sort of appeasement plan - see Muslims we are willing to elect a Muslim, please don't hurt us.

Of course it never enters their heads that people might think Ellison or Obama are actually good candidates in their own right.
