New Poll: Democratic race in Nevada a dead heat

A new poll by the Reno Gazette-Journal shows a neck-and-neck three-way race among Democrats for Saturday's caucus.

Barack Obama: 32 percent
Hillary Clinton: 30 percent
John Edwards: 27 percent

The poll was conducted Jan. 11 to Jan. 13 , with samples of 500 likely Democratic caucus-goers and 500 likely Republican caucus-goers statewide by Maryland-based Research 2000. The margin of error is 4.5 percent.

For the Blowhards Who Insist It's a Two-Way Race...
For those of you who think the Democratic presidential nomination fight is just a two-way race between Obama and Clinton, check out this brand new poll from the Reno Gazette-Journal. Yup, that's right - it shows the Nevada caucus race a three-way, dead heat with John Edwards right in the mix.

Interestingly, this poll comes right on the heels of the Establishment viciously ratcheting up its angry attacks on the Edwards candidacy. Late last week, we saw a Reuters story headlined "Corporate Elite Fear Candidate Edwards" detailing how Wall Street moneymen and K Street lobbyists are frightened about Edwards populist, power-challenging message against greed and corruption. We also saw self-anointed Democratic "expert" Lawrence O'Donnell pen a fulminating screed demanding Edwards get out of the race - not surprising coming from a man who made his name running the U.S. Senate Finance Committee - long the most corrupt, lobbyist-ravaged panel in all of Washington (somehow, running the U.S. Congress's version of a pay-to-play casino now makes people credile "experts" in campaign strategy and political morality).

According to the nonpartisan Project for Excellence in Journalism, Edwards has long faced a media blackout - one that at least some honest media brokers like Keith Olbermann have noted. As I said a long time ago, that Edwards has even been able to compete in such a hostile environment is a testament to the power of his message.
<snip>

This is the part that speaks to me the loudest...

<snip>
I spend my time trying to figure out which of these candidates represent the most fundamental form of change. One of the ways to judge that is to see who these candidates make uncomfortable. And by that measure, here's what I know: Edwards is generating hostility from precisely the kinds of people who are likely to be most averse to real, systemic change. And that speaks very well for the former senator from North Carolina.
<snip>

Lawrence O'Donnell is bought and paid for. Slimy, little weasel...

BTW- The Committee has jurisdiction over legislation involving taxation, international trade, health care, Social Security, Welfare, and other income security programs.

22. Edwards is the thorn on the sides of those corporate pigs.
good for Edwards you are hitting a nerve. And why listen to all this spin regarding Clinton and Obama, when we have Edwards right there and not involved in the fray. He could come from behind and shock everyone!!!

6. "Nobody expected the huge lead that _____ would open up... how could the pundits be so wrong?"
After polls indicated such a tight race, the actual
outcome was 50% Obama/Clinton, 30% Clinton/Obama,
with Edwards running a distant third in Nevada with
only 17%. Obviously the pollsters must have been
biased -- polling too many liberals as usual, I
expect. How could us liberal media, with our latte
sipping and our wind-surfing tendencies, been so wrong?
Clearly there is a Centrist Majority out there that
supports (Clinton/Obama). It looks like a coronation
for (Clinton/Obama)... can (Obama/Clinton) stay in the
race? Forget about Edwards... the American people
don't want his divisive rhetoric...

Just preparing you for the inevitable vote tally
engineered outcome as the more conservative candidate
comes in a "surprise" finish every time there is
a "supposed" tight race right up until election day.

16. ugh...
that photo makes me nauseous. I couldn't sit next to the BFEE's Poppy. He's said in the past the American people would have them tarred and feathered or something to that effect if we knew what they've done. Sitting next to someone who's daddy was heavily involved with the Third Reich is disgusting. Shame on Bill for coalescing ANY message with such a disgusting family. I don't care the cause, he should have just done it without that disgusting man. And, sadly, Poppy is 5x less annoying than Junior. What a pathetic family.

Oh wait, Nancy Pelosi said they're a patriotic and lovely family, I stand corrected.

19. Give Edwards
a little more coverage and an equal platform and he'd be on top.

Anyone else see manufactured appointments here?

Can we do this on some sort of ratio?

Say the candidate that garners the most votes per dollar spent wins the game?

I mean really now, how much payola are Hil and Obama spending per vote? Quite a lot is the answer.

Still can't get health care here...
