His daily motorcade from the Naval Observatory to the WH made me late for work this morning. I was trying to cross Pennsylvania Ave. at 23rd to get to my office building when the motorcycle cops swept down motioning all us peons back on the sidewalk. Then came his many car motorcade with lights flashing and sirens blasting. There was a woman standing at the corner with me and she got annoyed at the antics and said something to the effect of "all right, that's just enough". Then she asked if I knew what it was about. I laughed and told her it was just Cheney going to work. She got even more annoyed and said "all that fuss for him? Let's give him the finger." But his limo passed us even as she said it. I was only late a few minutes, and to be honest, nobody cared.
