What happens to your delegates if you drop out of the race?
For example what happened to Bill Richardson's if he had any?

1. They remain the (former) candidate's delegates
They become so many chips if a poker game for the nomination breaks out at the convention. More usually, the candidate releases them and suggests who they might support.

Keep in mind, however, that none of this is law. it is all party rules.

3. Thanks. So could Obama and Edwards combine their delegates?
With one of them trading their delegates to the other to beat Hillary. With the promise that the other one would be vice president.

and then went to the other candidates. I know Hillary and Obama increased at that time. I think JE may have also.

Gov Richardson hasn't released his as of yet. They still show up on the CNN delegate count in his column.
