10. Unfortunately that seems to be the cure for the ....
conservative revolution.

There seems to be some kind of cycle of conservatism. People become convinced that right wing policies are good for the economy and good for the country and it takes a total collapse of the system to convince them otherwise. I knew it was coming when Reagan got in office.

6. on free market theories...
Republicans always talk about how the market works best for everyone without government interference. It's all academic to them. Markets go sky high, but eventually they come back down. Everything's good, right? Well what happens is that when the housing market went through the roof it was a bubble that was going to eventually pop. And when it pops we have the crisis we have now and people are going to be homeless.

"No oversight or regulation needed here.", they'd say.

Let's use some common sense and not ideology when we form our policies!

9. you mean like "Voodoo Economics"?
From May 2006....they still havent figured it out

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/05/14/AR2006051400806.html
Nobody serious believes that tax cuts pay for themselves, as I noted last week. But most senior Republicans flunk this test of seriousness.

In January, George W. Bush declared that, "by cutting the taxes on the American people, this economy is strong, and the overall tax revenues have hit at record levels." Regrettably, this endorsement of what his dad called voodoo economics was not a one-time oversight. The next month, Bush told a New Hampshire audience, "You cut taxes and the tax revenues increase."

Bush is not alone in this. Dick Cheney, allegedly a serious person, asserted in February that the "tax cuts have translated into higher federal revenues."
