The Decline of US media

Why is this issue so important? Let's start with three facts you might not know:
1) Over 60% of Americans get their primary news from television;
2) The most watched TV news channel is Fox News (with more viewers than CNN & MSNBC combined);
3) The handful of massive companies that own most of the US media care primarily about profit, not delivering a quality product.

1. I think network news has far many more viewers than cable
not that network news is any better, but Fox has a very limited slice of the total viewership pie - they aren't the primary source of TV news formost people. Fox is the most watched cable channel but the networks (even the godawful Katie Couric) are seen by many more people.

2. Well that Smith thing was pretty odd. Did Jeb Bush put him in?
What type news in that any how?

3. I guess I'm lost, but, as john lennon said
I'm not the only one.

Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one
