The Rancid Stench Of Desperation
Edited on Fri Feb-23-07 01:18 AM by walldude
In their world, O'Reilly is an expert on child abductions. Limbaugh, Coulter, Hannity, Beck, Boortz and Savage are respectable journalists fighting against a liberally biased media empire. Fox news is fair and balanced. Iraq is going swimmingly. Nancy Pelosi is traitor who is emboldening Al-Quada. John Murtha, decorated war hero, is senile and doesn't have a clue as to what's going on in Iraq so chickenhawks Brit Hume, William Kristol, Chris Wallace and Juan Cole are going to straighten him out. In their world supporting the troops means labeling anyone who doesn't agree with their deeply failed and flawed policies a traitor while sporting a cute little ribbon on their vehicle and a flag pin on their lapel. In their world supporting the troops means calling a soldier who just had his legs blown off by an IED a whiner because he would like to be treated in a hospital that doesn't have mice or roaches in it. Cutting taxes means making sure the CEO's of Halliburton, CAIC, Titan and KBR, clear at least 20 million dollars a year while they make our troops eat expired food and shower in contaminated water.

Their world is old money. They believe they have the power and the privilege on their side. theirs is a world of entitlement, and they will do anything, anything to keep it that way.

There is a small problem with their little world though, a fly in the ointment... Us. Ever so slowly we have gained ground. We have written, called, protested, yelled, screamed, voted, carried signs and organized. It may not seem like it but if you pull back and look at the big picture we have gained much ground one small step at a time. Remember a time when Bush had a 70% approval rating? We have managed to help bring the truth to 40% of America. 40%. Countless threads on DU about how this cousin or that brother-in-law finally saw the light. Person by person we have spread the truth and taken back the majority. And they, are afraid. You can smell it. The rancid stench of desperation. An increasingly aware public isn't buying their bullshit anymore, and they know it. Brit Hume's bizarre attack on John Murtha, Cheney's standard blame American Democrats first rants, Boortz's insane rantings about teachers unions being more dangerous than terrorists with nukes, the White House response to Walter Reed, and the rock bottom, moronic attempt to pull the WMD wool over everyone's eyes again. They are in deep shit, and they know it. Desperation.

We gained the majority and voted our leaders into the ring. Apparently we are now going to have to teach them how to Box. Investigate. Impeach. Imprison. Rebuild. And hurry.

"Even now there is hope left... But this I will say to you: your Quest stands upon the edge of a knife. Stray but a little and it will fail, to the ruin of all. Yet hope remains while all the Company is true." -Lady Galadriel

2. Faux Noise reporters have lost all credibility in their unbalanced reports
Conservatives of this type are a dying breed. Check www.rasmussenreports.com

They had their chance and they blew it.
