ODD: Bush presidency ending like it started, with Bush off the radar

I remember the first few months of the Bush presidency, it was almost like the media forgot he was president--they were still talking about Clinton all the time, even the right wing media.

Now that the election cycle has started, it's almost like the White House is already vacant, not that Bush is a lame duck, but a non-entity.

I'm not talking about his ability to do damage, which is still huge, but the place he occupies in the public consciousness and the MSM seems to have shrunken to an asterisk.

I wonder if we will have a collective repressed memory of him before he is even out of office, and by next year, casual observers of politics will have a hard time remember who was president between Bill Clinton and whoever the next Democratic president is.
